Please could someone help me. I love to listen to radio 2 all day. We go to Ireland regularly and are currently renovating a cottage, so to be able to listen to R2 would be fab. Is there anyway apart from using a dongle? If I listened to it on my mobile phone would that be really expensive re roaming charges?
Thank you in advance:):)

Dependent where you are in Ireland (you do not say North or South)it may be possible to use a normal VHF radio receiver.
Transmitters here
http://www.bbc.co.uk/reception/transmitters/radio/
Alternative buy a cheap FREESAT setup and listen on that.0 -
If you have a landline and Internet connection at the property, you can hook up a sound system to a pc, use a WiFi device like an iPod Touch, or IPad, to access R2 via BBC iPlayer.0

Can you get it on digital TV?0

to access R2 via BBC iPlayer.
I think there is a restriction on accessing IPlayer outside the UK for TV
But the BBC radio is available on a PC not a mobile
At the moment, we don't have the capacity to serve overseas customers with either live or listen again radio content on mobiles. However you can listen to BBC radio outside the UK from a desktop computer - go to https://www.bbc.co.uk/radio.
Where exactly are going. The border counties Louth, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal can pick it up from Northern Ireland on ordinary FM 90.1 radio

If you're on the East coast of the Isle, you may be able to just point an aerial toward Liverpool or Wales, and pick it up from one of the mainland transmitters ...
Three out of five Welsh transmitters are on the coast, which bodes well ....0 -

Why not just buy a cheap DAB Radio?I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

No:(
not anywhere away from the Northern border!
Can I receive stations from outside Ireland on my DAB receiver?
No. Unlike satellite radio or Internet radio, DAB digital radio is land based and only operates within its transmission range. UK services, including the BBC will not be available on DAB digital radio set here in Ireland as there is no capacity or regulatory framework to facilitate them and vice versa for Irish stations in the UK
Can I take my DAB digital radio abroad and still listen to the same stations?
No. DAB digital radio is a terrestrial technology using land-based transmitters. You can only listen to stations when you are within their transmission range. Some English language radio stations are available via satellite radio. For more information visit https://www.astra.lu.
