This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning all,
the reunion went well. I saw people I hadn't seen for many years. However, I don't know if its good or bad.... people didn't recognise me. Have I changed that much? Well people seem to think I have.:o
Today hubby is working so i'm off to my local shopping centre for a nose at whats in store. Ive got some Debenhams vouchers I want to spend and theres things in the house I need so i'll be using them.
Lovely day again. Ive got some washing to do before I go out and i'm planning on using the rotary line. The clothes should be dry by the time I get home.
'Youngest' is off out for the day despite his hay fever being quite bad. Ive never known him suffer with it this bad. I left 2 paracetamol out for hubby this morning as he suffers in the heat. I think he's working in a care home today.
Have a good day all and don't forget the SPF!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Good morning Judi and to those who cross/follow,
Beautiful sunshine here again.
DD is in hospital. She was admitted late afternoon yesterday. The hospital thinks there is a strong chance it's her appendix, still waiting on the results of blood tests. If it's not, then today they are going to put a camera through her stomach and look at her ovaries incase it's those that are causing the pain. Hubby and myself got home at about 10 last night. It was awful leaving her. I know she is growing up but she is still only 16. I had an awful nights sleep, so did hubby.
No real plans today. Housework and more housework i think. My car needs hoovering out. No idea how it gets that messy.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning everyone.
Lovely sunny and warm day herehaving a BBQ tonight so just want to pop up sainsbugs and get some finger rolls and some wine. Kids won't eat food cooked off BBQ (well DD will but DS won't) so will do the, hotdogs separately.
DS has a laser quest party to go to, his first so not sure how he's going to react to it.
Other than that just prepping food for later and a little bit of washing. Gonna enjoy the lovely weather while its here
Hugs and spoons all round, have a great Saturday everyone.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning all:j:j
very warm here already, Lovely warm sunny day here yesterday, Due to be even hotter today,
18c here already this morning.
The twins dance show went well last nigh, It was nearly midnight when they got home. Both girls had fell asleep In the car on the way back.
We put them into bed and within two mins sods law would have it that one woke up screaming! and woke the other one up who joined In. Both had a good cry and when they had calm down. My wife red them a story, Both are still asleep, My wife is still In bed but I think she maybe a wake.
Alsl last night the bloke three doors up, has gone away, He teenage Kid/kids have come to stop the night to keep an eye on the place. Had a party, 12:30 lat night they were still at it talking and shouting In the back garden. This is not the first time they have done this. Every time the guy is away his kids from with his first wife visit and stop over. Always having a party, Its not so bad In the winter as they are mostly Indoors. I don't know how many were there last night but there were quite a few.
The kids only ever seem to come when there dad has to go away with work for the night/weekend. His two young kids from his 2nd wife come most weekends to stop over, They are around the same age as our girls more or less. They are the only ones that are around there age that live/visit the street. so they may play out In the street with each other when they are older and they visit.
Anyway because of the party and our bedroom being at the back of the house we ended up having the window shut all night.
They seem to be tidying the garden up this morning, So dad must be back today, so at least we will not have to put up with it again tonight.
I'm going to see the dance show tonight, Its not my cup of tea at all, I only really wont to see my girls bit,
The girls are going to have another flat out day with two show's to be done. One this afternoon. then another one tonight. Will be a late night again for them.
My wife and the girls will be eating out of a lunch box all day for both meals. With how hot its going to be, they would not wont a big hot meal anyway.
Not sure what I shall be doing for meals. Any offers to take me in?
well I hope that you have a grate day,
Enjoy the sun everyone :j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
