Insurance with points ?

Hi,
looking for some advice.
Last night our car was stolen, we have reported it to the police and got the crime ref no, ect.
The problem is the car still has money outstanding on it, so what do i do here?
Also 3 years back i incurred 6 points on my license for driving without insurance ( genuine bounced direct debit may i add
)
I stupidly never declared the points to my car insurer, obviously now i'm worried when i put the claim in it will be void because of the point's. Is it policy that they check when claiming ?
Thanks in advance

They are unlikely to ask for you licence but they may do.0

If they discover the undeclared points and believe you have done it deliberately you can look forward to another cancelled policy and no pay out for the stolen car plus probably a demand for the unpaid premium you should have paid in previous years.
If they don't discover the points then generally the finance company will get paid first and you get anything left over or have to pay the extra if the finance is more than the car is worth.
I'd be praying the car turns up and if it does I'd cancel the existing insurance and go elsewhere immediately. (declaring the points obviously)0 -
When you got the points for no insurance was your insurance cancelled ?
If so you will need to have declared this to your present insurer also - if not and they find out it is likely that they will void your insurance from the start as many insurers will not insure people with previously cancelled insurance.0 -

The complete opposite for a theft claim, they're very very likely to ask for a copy of the driving licence along with the counterfoil.0 -
99% sure you will be asked for your license.
I doubt you will be paid out as you committed fraud to obtain your policy.
You will have trouble obtaining insurance for the rest of your life, from now on.
Best hope it turns up soon. And if its damaged in anyway, don't bother claiming.0 -
in fact, depending on the value of the car it could well be that you would be better off not claiming rather than have your deception discovered.
The points will drop off after 5 years, a cancelled policy will be with you for ever and, when you take into account all the policies you would need to declare it on it could well end up costing you ££££ every year basically forever0 -
The best you can hope for in this instance is that the insurer asks you for the additional premium that it would of cost you at the time had you declared your 6 points and then process the claim as normal once you have paid the additional premium.
I have known this happen for speeding points, but for a driving with no insurance conviction, they might not be so lenient.
What was the car?0 -
wow, fraud eh.
Insurance doesnt get cancelled because of bounced dd, so im guessing it was a few months. think you'd of learnt, but not you still carried on, effectively driving with no insurance.
im pretty sure you will need to show your licence, and im sure they will cancel the policy.0 -

Of course insurance gets cancelled if you bounce a dd after thet've followed their processes and payment / full payment not received0 -

Your problem is failing to disclose the points and possible failing to disclose a cancelled policy.
Run your details (anonymously) through a compare site to see if your current insurers would have quoted had they been given accurate info at inception.0
