Lost item I sold

I listed a small item about 4 days ago, took some nice photos and great news someone bought it today. Now I can't find it! I've cleaned the whole house looking for it today, even looked in the bins! Where can it be!? Hopefully I'll dream about it tonight otherwise I am going to have to write an apologetic email tomorrow. Any ideas how to word it so they don't get too annoyed?

What's your stated dispatch time? If it's 2 days you could be OK as it's Saturday tomorrow and it will give you more time to look over the weekend. If they paid today, day 1 is tomorrow (if you count Saturdays?) and day 2 would be Monday.
I've done the self-same thing but I luckily found it before I had to grovel to the buyer!
Good luck!0 -
Have you checked down the sofa? I was looking for the remote and found a sandwhich down there I'd lost last week. It was a bit fluffy but kinda tasted ok.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. If you are overweight, you may have it stuck to your bumcheeks. I know, sounds far fetched, but I once lost my wife for a week , noticed the washing was piling up and there was no hot food on the go, but she was pinned down under the TVTimes which I was sitting on , that was a few years ago as I don't read it any more. Would have annoyed me if I had sold her though and couldnt post her in time.NB...People online who are here asking advice for "my friend" they really mean "myself" :eek:0

Thanks but I'm quite skinny, so it'd not stuck to my bumcheeks! However you did make me think about looking under the cat, but not there either. Found some old biscuits in the sofa, they didn't taste nice. Will check inside the hoover next.0

should have fed the biscuits to the cat...
it might be an idea to buy the item again if you still can't find it?0 -
Well I've refunded and sent the email.
Maybe I should report the theft to the police. I live in a small village and the last crime was about 3 years ago when a lawn mower went missing from someones garden, only to reappear back a fews days later. _ the police were all out looking for it, so I'm sure they would take the case of a missing £5 charm very seriously.
Unless there are unearthly going on's within the village?0 -
Guess what, someone bought something else, went to pack it, and there was the missing item stuck inside it!! Just two hours after I've refunded and sent my stupid email. Now I'm debating to ask if she wants to pay again - or should I just leave it. I'm off to kick my self now.0

If you told her that you'd lost it, then I would re-offer, explaining that you've found it again. Maybe offer a small discount if she still wants it.
If you just relist it & she notices she'll think it odd.0
