Quick opinion needed. I am selling my car on EBay and someone bid on Sunday so it went over the reserve. Now it ends in 3 hours and he just emailed me and said he wanted to cancel the bid as his partner had bought another car without his knowledge. The nearest bid to his is 75 less ( and 75 under reserve) so if I cancel his bid I may not sell. However if I leave his bid someone else may better it. Ebay frown on cancelling bids aswell

I am with you on this one ,not sure about the compactor idea as when I am on my trawl of charity shops which incidently is very frequent I am always coming across 4p items I have purchased previously in T's being sold in them ;) and do a little smile to myself, so know that this idea of going to charity is very true.

:) I agree - Our Barnardos Shop often has baskets full of flipflops ;)

Fake email from BT saying we owe them £146. Did fret a bit but got into BT acct via BT (not the email :) ) & all's well.
But the email has been sent from BTs email address  no other address when you hover over it

And then an email from Lakeland - is this true?

Potential security breach of Lakeland website. Late on Friday July 19th we discovered that the Lakeland website was being attacked by hackers in a sophisticated and sustained attack. Immediate action was taken to block the attack, repair the system and to investigate the damage done and this investigation continues. Today it has become clear that two encrypted databases were accessed, though we've not been able to find any evidence that the data has been stolen. However, we have decided that it is safest to delete all the customer passwords used on our site and invite customers to reset their passwords next time they visit the Lakeland site. Next time you log-in to your Lakeland account you will be asked to reset your password and provide a new one. It is not necessary to do this straight away, just the next time you want to use the account. We also advise, as a precaution, that if you use the same password on any other account/s, you should change the passwords on these accounts as soon as possible. We do not know for certain that the hackers succeeded in stealing data, however since there is a theoretical risk and because it is our policy to be open and honest with our customers, we are being proactive in alerting you. We deeply regret that this has occurred and apologise for the inconvenience caused. The security of our customers' data is hugely important to us and we are devastated to have fallen victim to these criminals. This has occurred despite the best efforts of ourselves and the industry leading IT company that runs our website for us to use the best security systems available. We are committed to protecting our customers' data and will continue to seek additional measures to ensure the integrity of our systems. Lakeland had been subjected to a sophisticated cyber-attack using a very recently identified flaw in the Java software used by the servers running our website, and indeed numerous websites around the world. This flaw was used to gain unauthorised access to the Lakeland web system and data. Hacking the Lakeland site has taken a concerted effort and considerable skill. We only wish that those responsible used their talent for good rather than criminal ends. The attack on the Lakeland website has not impacted our Lakeland stores nor has it impacted our Mail Order Call Centre. In both cases these use separate systems that are not internet based and continue to trade normally.

    Good morning :)

I fell asleep before the end of the darts match last night :o:o

DS2 soon rectified that. He was up around 2am. We spent the night dozing on the sofa whilst he watched some totally weird programmes on TV. Result......we slept in this morning:o and had a mad rush to get to school looking respectable :o

The leavers assembley was FAB! very emotional, lots of lost mascara and lots of tissues used. Lots of staff telling me how much they're going to miss DS2 and how much he makes them all laugh. Very proud :D

You must be a :A...:rotfl: we are only on day 3, we've been up since the crack of dawn, had several tellings of and nearly a visit to the "naughty spot" little man seems to think his sister is a golf ball, whom he can hit with a club at his leisure:eek:

    :)

Ha, ha, yes. If you read my post I sound like Mary Poppins don't I! I can assure you that we don't do library visits and cooking activities every day. DVDs will also feature heavily in my summer holiday schedule! I have already shouted this morning and am currently dealing with tears as someone has scribbled on someone else's drawing! I am definitely not an :A

Thank you to everyone whose advice has helped me in my desperate quest to make ends meet. x

EDIT-Back on the quest, I've been away too long!
