    Evening all

Been on a bit of a downer this weekend. Sis rang when she got home Friday to say that she had just seen a Land Rover hit her cat :( They didn't even stop  She took it straight to the vet but he had got a cut on his leg down to the bone and fractured hips so the vet advised them it was more humane to put him to sleep :(:(

Have tried to cheer myself up today with a child free shopping spree :o
Decided we are MSE most of the time so we can afford to do nice things and make good memories :) So have been buying things for next weekend's birthday parties. MSE style shopping means we have awesome party bags :D Have some great outdoor toys and a new airflow bouncy castle that my BF group buddies have bought H. Just need good weather next weekend now. Long range forecast looking good at the mo smiley-vault-character-192.gif

Also managed to get a few bits in the Next sale for the little ones and a couple of new tops for me ;)

Now relaxing with a medicinal vodka :p

With you all the way logie - well understand that sometimes we feel the need to say to heck with it and splurge :D ill health seems to help you focus your mind somehow :) so do not beat yourself up hun. You have been through a lot and are still facing many bridges :(

but on a lighter note I am having some medicinal wine - so cheers :beer:and hope that it helps you bounce back to fighting form tomorrow :T

He came home this evening with a diagnosis of migraine.

They gave him a painkilling injection and told him to go to his gp in the morning for medication.

Don't get me wrong, I'm so pleased that it wasn't what I thought it could be (and a doctor friend I spoke to on the phone) but we all kind of get the feeling that its not the end of it. If they're so convinced it was migraine, why were they giving him codiene, tramadol, morphine and a paracetamol drip, and ibuprofen, and not one of them doing the trick? Why didnt they give him migraine meds?

    Thank you for asking :A

Think I see where you are coming from - I too would not be happy. :(
Some diagnoses they don't give till they're sure. I've a relative who did the medicals for the navy. He'd ask if they ever suffered from headaches and they'd say they had migraines. After they'd failed and been told that migraines counted as a neurological disorder, their mums would come in and try to argue that they were just headaches. Which was much much worse as it meant they'd be barrack-room lawyers and to be avoided like the plague.

You can find it difficult to tell a cold from a flu. ;)

Until you finally get the flu.

Throat is likely to get worse for another week or so as the effects of radiation are delayed. Still on my soft food diet but feel starving. Even getting pain eating soup now. It'll be worth it though. It won't be forever and it's my best chance at the moment :)

That's exactly it, mind much more focussed now. Try to make the most of everything, including the money we have :money: No point in wasting it when we can use what we've saved to have fun :) I'm on the medicinal vodka  Bargain vodka of course ;):D

Shortfatscotbloke - your house looks immaculate. I too live in the south east but our house prices are not quite so steep as where you live. I thought you lived in scotland with your username! Can't seeing any evidence of your unusual shopping habits - where do you keep all your stashes or apgs! I've always got piles of coupons, receipts everywhere waiting to be actioned. How come you have got two front doors - is the because the postie can't get all the freebies/tesco vouchers/coupons through one letterbox?
    ?
Thanks for all the nice house comments. Stashes are either in a huge cupboard under the stairs or in one of our three sheds.

I think we have 2 front doors as one used to be a servants entrance?
