Are we a similar age ? I think everyone got a crackerjack pencil and losers got a rather large cabbage as well. Some won lots of things I can remember someone maybe Lesley Crowther putting things in a big brown bag for them. It was a couple of years ago though
You (or your avi) look a lot younger than me - as I was born in the 50s.
Peter Glaze and Leslie Crowther were some of the names I remember from then.
Never got into the audience (but did see TOTP being filmed when "Silver Machine" by Hawkwind was on , and Terry Dactyl and the Dinosaurs "Seaside Shuffle").
Couldn't have been very fanciable as a certain DJ was there but left us alone.;)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Fab - I bet this was the best BBQ ever and everyone had a fab time - a Sunday everyone would remember for years
Did you manage to get everything for about the £25?
I found a trolley rec last week which was all BBQ stuff -£88
And then I found the drink one, another £44
I've had weekends away that have cost less - travelodge and meals out etc
We went over by about £9 buying lager but we had steak,pork chops,belly pork,chicken,burgers,sausages ,rolls,colslaw etc.It all went down a treat.0 -
Evening all
Been on a bit of a downer this weekend. Sis rang when she got home Friday to say that she had just seen a Land Rover hit her catThey didn't even stop  She took it straight to the vet but he had got a cut on his leg down to the bone and fractured hips so the vet advised them it was more humane to put him to sleep
:(
Have tried to cheer myself up today with a child free shopping spree
Decided we are MSE most of the time so we can afford to do nice things and make good memoriesSo have been buying things for next weekend's birthday parties. MSE style shopping means we have awesome party bags
Have some great outdoor toys and a new airflow bouncy castle that my BF group buddies have bought H. Just need good weather next weekend now. Long range forecast looking good at the mo
Also managed to get a few bits in the Next sale for the little ones and a couple of new tops for me
Now relaxing with a medicinal vodka♥ Worrying does not empty tomorrow of it's troubles.... it empties today of it's strength ♥0 -
Evening
Still tetheredIve had an amusing evening:cool: I have enough material for a whole separate new book
DS2s 42 reasons why he shouldn't have a haircut:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I counted them all, wrote them all down and finally two and a half hours later his hair is cut and is still coming up with reasons:rotfl::rotfl: I let him off with negotiating a 20 minute trampoline extension
My favourite reason of the 42: 'You expect me to have a haircut with all the stress that it brings at the same time as having no Internet! There can't possibly be a reason to inflict that much stress on an 11 year old boy and if you ask me, you are no better than what you called BT last night':rotfl::rotfl:0 -

He came home this evening with a diagnosis of migraine.
They gave him a painkilling injection and told him to go to his gp in the morning for medication.
Don't get me wrong, I'm so pleased that it wasn't what I thought it could be (and a doctor friend I spoke to on the phone) but we all kind of get the feeling that its not the end of it. If they're so convinced it was migraine, why were they giving him codiene, tramadol, morphine and a paracetamol drip, and ibuprofen, and not one of them doing the trick? Why didnt they give him migraine meds?
Thank you for asking :A

Good MSE thinking. I too believe I save enough to splash a little on the stuff that matters and you can't put a price on memories:A

Was a special one too to say goodbye to a teacher, I really panicked when I remembered it was today, thankfully I was panicking at 5.05pm (mass at 6pm) not panicking at 6.05pm or 7.05pm. I was like a headless chicken trying to smarten up and get there in time.:D Was a good mass, new priest is a breath of fresh air and mad as a hatter.
Glad you made it in time and enjoyed it , you and the priest get on ok then? both mad as hatters :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Thrifty_Sister wrote: »Yes - thank youHave you?
I did 3 targeted shops at A's, T & 2 x S, went to M & S for the meal deals and finished in Mr Shoes and relieved them of a 'few' Bogof deals using my till spits and coupons. Got over £80 stuff (sun creams & No 7 stuff) and paid less than £20 :T and all very MSE as they are next door to each other
And OH and I then went for a meal at a Harvester using a voucher:D
and then managed couple of hours in the garden.
And as a bonus I didn't muck up my apg's :rotfl:
Yes i havent done much today, went Post office and as its in t's would have been rude not to get JF :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: havent sat outside all weekend as just too hot for me
