2 things set me off - the price of value sparkling water going up and down - I seem to think it was 32p at one stage.
The 2nd thing is the petrol price. I live between 2 small towns - about a mile to one and 3 miles to the other. The nearer one is less salubrious and the petrol price is governed by Tosco so its usually 2p more expensive.
The other town is more affluent and the petrol is always cheaper
And then there is a large city about 15 miles away so if we go for a day out we go via this city and the petrol is always cheaper there - supply and demand I supposeSavvybuyer wrote: »Yeah we know:D - Aero Mousses have been 50p in A a few months back (as Patty will well know:rotfl:). I wrote down the Aero Mousse but it didn't make it into the list for this reason. Eday Value Sparkling - well, S/P Sparkling, is Avs S. Watch them all increase the prices now though! Unless T's planning a big "Price Drop" promo. on them. Back to the 17p it was for months before.
On that - or something a bit similar - didn't we have the 1p price reduction on fuel recently? My S had already actually increased its price by one penny a litre a few days before. It then went back to the price it had been, once A announced a maximum price (the price already being charged before then for me). In fact I've got a number of S's - and the one that is farthest away from A and T is 1p a litre more expensive. Wasn't having that, when the same fuel is available from the other S - people may be thinking of going to A after all the above shenigans - effectively charging people more for a few days then calling it a price drop - but S draws people in with 'double points on fuel' spits.
In effect it means each litre is a penny off (normally 1 point per litre, 2 points is one penny). In other words, just the same price as it was before all the S's put their price back up by 1p/L in the last week. So no point!
I'd rather have the 1p:rotfl:cheaper fuel now, than pay the extra cost and then have it back - eventually, once I've reached 500 points, in effect as an interest free loan from me to the supermarkets, which waits months to be paid off (especially at T, where I've always had their 'extra points' not being credited at the end of the CC period as they said they would - then ringing them and waiting another 3 months... till, one occasion, they failed to appear again. So a six-month:eek: interest free loan from me to them. Really, it's disgraceful how some companies treat people. If it was you or I withholding payment, there would soon be authorities called in or action taken to retrieve it immediately. They'd probably just take it straight from my debit card, without even asking before doing so. Appalling:(.)
Ohh - I am having a bit of a rant aren't I?:rotfl::rotfl: It's how it works - increase the actual price, then 'give' people a discount, making them think it's worth getting. (It's more expensive than before, just allows them to delay payment by putting it on 'loyalty' cards.) Thanks for setting it off mhoc - don't know how that was managed from some Aero Mousses:D!“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. The Nutri-Grain Chocolate. Not on msm yet.
Did two sep. shops, one vs T and one vs S, each with a 6 pack chocolate and
an appropriate other Nutri Grain (some on offer at T and some at S). Cutting it
fine though on the T shop - offers on the iceberg and cucumber according to msm
run till today:eek:, but still been showing that pricing all day (and no
'out of stock' symbol).QUOTE]0 -

Evening folks
This annoys me too, where i live we have alot of shows on , usually at least one a weekend, this weekend is vauxhall and its packed solid!
Just outside the park there is a BP garage, all week petrol there £1.33 , this weekend as car show on £1.35 and he does this every time.
In 2 weeks there is Landrover show and now this is massive and a major headache for people that live here getting on and off park but bet petrol and diesel will be even dearer that weekend:eek:
I very rarely use the garage unless im desperate as a town i work in 2 days a week about 6 miles up the road and usually about 5-6p a litre cheaper:T:TSealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -

I did actually try writing in and saying their reduction (announced nationwide, prompted by their competitor) took it back to the same price - the station had just increased the price by 1p/L, hoping they might send me some quid on a GC to stop me going to the rival. Sadly didn't work. Their reply was that they look at the prices of their competitors to make sure they offer competitive prices. They are absolutely right - I could not agree more with their reply - I bet they do really look at the other's prices - as soon as the others go up they raise them to match.
Or, if they are too 'cheap', in comparison to the others, they put their own price up so they aren't any longer. That Sains was 0.8p/L cheaper than the A. Price increase by a penny - Sains is always 0.2p more expensive per litre than A. The Nectar points, from Sains., then just about make it better buying from S rather than A (depending on your distance from both) but clearly they can't be cheaper in their own right and then cheaper still with the Nectars!
T is the same - T's price (for a long time now) has been, and still is, even more ridiculous than S's. One CC point per litre - but petrol always 1-2p more expensive than elsewhere (or, if they are out 'in the sticks' away from the others, even more expensive than that). More is then made by a few pence off coupon when you spend loads more with them than anyone ever should!
Right - don't get me onto it!! I've finished this topic now, one of my other hobby-horses.:rotfl:0
