Don't get conned with buy 3 get cheapest free!

I don't think the OP was conned either, but I wouldn't be rude to him.
I'm a bit confused exactly how the OP thought this offer would work.
I could understand buying 3 items of the same value - so in reality buy 2, get one free.
OP - did you expect to pay for the cheap calcium tablets and get the expensive multi-vitamins free?
If so, I do think that's a bit naïve.
OP bought 3 of each item, but got two of the cheaper item free.0 -

What sort of idiot copies quotes from another thread to try and make some sort of point about another poster? Your sort of idiot, that's who.0 -

Not unreasonable, in my view, but I'd have put them through separately to make sure2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

I don't think the OP was conned.
I think the OP didn't check or understand the terms of the deal, and it didn't work like he thought it would/assumed.
We've all been there and realised afterwards our mistake, and lost out a little money, but there is no need to accuse Tesco of a con in this instance.0 -
Regardless of how the OP thought the deal would work, why didn't he/she do this:?fluffnutter wrote: »But I don't understand why the OP didn't cancel the transaction and ask for it to be done as two separate ones.
Assuming the calcium tablets were much cheaper than the multi vitamins (based on this):fishpie_1234 wrote: »Just made a supermarket purchase with this offer. Bought 3 expensive multi vitamin products and 3 cheapo calcium tablets. Got the 2 discounts on the cheap calcium tablets. Would of saved a bundle on the multi vitamins.
I'm surprised that the OP didn't query the amount charged during the transaction.fishpie_1234 wrote: »Lesson is only purchase the expensive stuff and forget bundling it with other cheaper products from same line.
Personally, I think the lesson is to always check your receipt before you leave the shop.0 -

The person who wrote that is the most perfect person ever!
That person completely forgives anyone for signing anything without reading, forgives anyone using the word scam or swindle who didn't bother reading anything either.
MSK, when you have learned how to use a dictionary properly you really need to look up the word <satire> and try and understand how it applies to the bit of post you quoted. It might stop you making a fool of yourself.0 -

I wonder how many people don't check their receipts before leaving the shop or even at all.
If I'm buying just a few things e.g. 3 packs of multi-vitamins and 3 packs of calcium tablets, I always have at least a rough idea (if not exactly) how much they will cost and would query if it came to more.
Is that a knock I hear at the door?0
