Flight delay compensation

I applied to BA for compensation for a BMI flight to Portugal in 2006 for a party of 5. All seemed to be progressing until I was only able to send a credit card payment made to BMI baby as proof. They will not accept this and need boarding cards or confirmation of booking which we do not have. Can anyone advise please?
