Just started playing the first crysis on xbox 360 and what crap graphics it has, I was wondering what all the fuss was about, as most PCs are still said to struggle with the graphics, so I youtubed a comparison of the two and can now see just how good the PC is with graphics, it makes the xbox look a joke, I don't want to buy a PS4 now as I bet it still is only about the equivalent to a 2005 PC  but I can't do the keyboard and mouse thing.

Most modern PC games allow you to use an Xbox 360 controller - have a look on Amazon for the required hardware (its pretty cheap).0

You have to remember any game is dependent on the computer they play it on. It will struggle for graphics if the PC isn't good enough. Gaming PC's cost more than an xbox or ps* and can provide better gaming experience and graphics, but only if you buy or build a very good system. For regular joe trying to do it on their normal desktop be all computer it wont show very good.
iirc a few years ago crysis was a good test for a gaming computer. i remember having to listen to my ex go on and on about if it works with this it's a fab laptop/computer0 -
As has been said, a decent gaming PC is going to be more expensive than a console. Then there's the hardware chase with PCs - what you get now will be fine for the 'top' games but in a couple of year time or so you'll have to start looking at replacing components as your kit will likely not be good enough to run the latest games at the highest quality. Then of course there's the potential compatibility issues with some bits of hardware when running a game, as well as trying to get a game to run using a controller.
I'm very aware of these issues as several members of my gaming community have set up gaming PCs in the last few months with varying degrees of success. All of them have pretty much come to the conclusion that they will be getting a PS4 as the graphics and capability are very good indeed plus it's a heck of a lot easier to run games - just stick them in and they will play, no need to worry about compatibility, driver issues etc. They'll know that the game will just work with no hassle.0 -
Its not about the graphics, its about the gameplay...0

You can't compare the graphics of a console to the graphics of a high end gaming PC.
Well, you can... but it would be an unfair comparison.
Xbox 360 and PS3 were equivalent to mid to low end PC's. The Xbone and PS4 will be the equivalent to mid to high end gaming PC's.
However as you can rip out, swap and upgrade parts of a gaming PC it's inevitable that over the life of the consoles the gaming PC's will do better. Then you have price to consider.
Try building a PC for £350 and then compare it to a PS4.0 -
Its not about the graphics, its about the gameplay...
However, graphics are still an important factor to people. If they weren't, we'd all still be playing games on 386 PCs or lower.0 -

Look how popular minecraft is - are you telling me thats because of its graphics?0

I think minecraft is s**t, and utterly pointless.
My point is, it depends what you want out of a game.
If it wasn't about graphics as well as gameplay we'd all still be playing Frogger on the ZX Spectrum.0 -
I should point out that most computers struggled to run Crysis at the time in ultra high settings (the way it was intended to be played), however a reasonable computer today will be able to play it comfortably. My 3+ year old machine plays it in high with a decent frame rate, it's still one of the most visually appealing games I've ever played.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0
