    Morning everyone :D

Looking forward to some lovely weather today and this weekend :D having a BBQ tomorrow night, my brother and his kids may join us and my parents. Need to borrow a BBQ though as we chucked ours :rotfl:
Got friends coming for coffee this morning and after that I have ironing. A large pile. Back is aching this morning as I slept in DD's bed last night (she fell out of it so I stuck her in my space as its quickest way to get her back off to sleep). Might stick a painkiller down my neck, no point suffering unnecessarily ;)

Not sure about tea tonight. Don't fancy anything heavy with weather being so hot so probably baked spud, tuna and salad.

Hugs and spoons all round xx

Dumpling can I be nosey and ask where you live? I love North Devon and we are off there for a weeks holiday in August :D

Hester sadly when I worked in copy room for solicitors we got treated much the same :( you've lasted this long you can hang in another 3 weeks x

    Tru wow it's lovely :)

    Morning everyone,

BF is back this evening for a few nights before he swans off again to another camp and goes straight from that one to Switzerland for a tournament so he will be away 7days total - going to stretch myself to make those 7 NSDs for my GC!

Arranged to meet a friend next Friday for lunch which will be lovely; we haven't hung out in a good long time despite living 5 minutes drive from each other now!

Lunch today is spag bol sauce with toast (brought a couple of slices of bread in from home to toast here!).

The bread was already mouldy this morning and I only got it 3 days ago! It wasn't even a nice loaf to start with though. the corners were very hard and looked unbaked!

Off to Morrisons at lunch to get a bottle of wine for me and bf's mum tonight as well as bacon and some veggies for our tea tonight :)

On my own in the office today so work if trundling along. I have accomplished all my morning tasks now so will begin to prepare for the heftier afternoon tasks I have planned.

The only girl on GB for bf's sport didn't get selected for the Euros (gutted - I think she's awesome!) but she is going to drive over and when bf mentioned I'd said to him I wanted to go and watch she told him to get me to message her and we will make it a girls break! Making it much cheaper for me as she's driving over (£50 for the car +4 rather than £104 each for flights!) and I should be able to get a room with them too (either 3 adults in one room or we will pull another one along to share with me!). Just need to message her tonight to arrange that which will be great. I've been wanting to make friends with her properly for ages :) Plus it means I will still get a little holiday from work this summer!

Also have to sit down and work out what days I want off for holidays next year! I get 20 days plus all the bank hols which is pretty decent but I end up taking odd days so would quite like to get all of those and Christmas in and then see what I'm left with. Although I know I won't get to go to many internationals I may try and sneak one in in the summer/maybe Prague later in the year. Then bf can compete ,I can chill/watch and then maybe we can tag an extra day on for just the two of us!

Tea tonight will be hunters chicken (sans BBQ sauce for bf) with chips for him and mash/veggies for me - yummy!

Hester - hugs to you x
I think public services like the LEA and NHS are the worst employers for bullying behaviours. It was my experience of the NHS anyway. I also had a few experiences of "I pay your wages so I will get what I want" which used to really rile me too. But you have to just grit your teeth and smile sweetly. I know that a THANK YOU goes a long way x

    Morning all

Been mia for the last two days doing foodbank stuff-Wednesday is our usual distribution day and yesterday I was collecting donations outside a well known supermarket.

So today has been breakfast in the garden with OH who is now into his 4th day of redundancy/retirement. He is decorating the (now) spare room for DD's visit home from Japan at the end of the month and hoping that we can have a hobby loft conversion as advertised in the Model Railway magazines. :eek:Meanwhile I have boxes of model trains neatly stacked under the stairs and baseboards in the loft.

Hester you can do it and have a lovely weekend.

    Bitsey enjoy your bbq.

We are having friends over for drinks tomorrow night so may sit out in the garden. Just read on yah** that the lovely hot weather will last for at least 7 days. Woohoo! May have to invest in new reclining chairs for the garden although I'd love a traditional deckchair or two. The only place I 've seen them is John Lew&& but they are a bit pricey. We have to practise making the pension and redundancy money go round.....

Well hugs and coffee and cake to all poorlies and p**d offs.

    Have a lovely afternoon all.

Hello everyone, never posted here before.

My day has been shot to hell. 2 poorly children (one scarlet fever, again! and one has an infected finger, chronic nail biting). Second trip to the drs in a week in and they are both doing a brilliant impression of Damian from the Omen. At each others throats and youngest is being an absolute screamy and shouty nightmare. On an MSE note, I couldn't grab the few things I needed from town because of the enormous tantrum youngest was throwing. I can see why gin is called "Mother's Ruin".

Bullying in the workplace is such a living nightmare. It makes the days seem so much longer and makes you worried about everything you do/don't do. The workplace I was at, it was one manager and she terrorised everyone. No-one ever said anything (me included), everyone was too worried about their jobs, she was best friends with the owner of the small independent business and pretty much bullet proof. I was TFI Fridaying and then feeling physically ill on Sunday evenings, it's a horrible feeling. I left when I felt the overwhelming urge to smoke to cope with the stress she caused us, never smoked in my life. I really feel for you Hester, make sure you look after yourself.

    Afternoon all,

I'm back, managed to get all the shopping done. We are having poppadoms with chutney, riata and onions for starters and then chicken potato and spinach curry for main. All very easy and even better with a glass of wine in the garden with our oldest bestest friends. They picked up Trivial Pursuit the tv version so shall probably have a game of that. Might have a chance dh always beats everyone for the normal version:eek:
lushlifesaver I may have missed it, what is your bf sport?
I think a few of us are having barbies tomorrow has anyone got any good fail safe recipes, I fancy trying something a bit different from the usual burgers and sausages?.
It's glorious here, dh should be home around 2 Ish which will give us time to make the garden look perfect ( it already does in my opinion but hubby is very fussy about the garden)
Did anyone watch Luther the other night, I loved the last series but I spent the whole time with a cushion I front of my face, are programmes getting more violent or am I just getting more squeamish
Welcome shelley crow its lovely here, hope the little ones are better soon
hester hugs Hun, hope you can make it to the end of term x
Anyway better get my onions chopped, enjoy the sunshine x

He plays wheelchair rugby aka murderball :) and it's every bit as full on as the name suggests!

When it comes to BBQs I always bring the variety with the side dishes rather than any meats etc. Fritatta, pasta mixed with a little mayo and a splash of mint sauce (my absolute favourite!), rice with peas and pineapple and lots of other random things that could only ever work together at a BBQ! :rotfl:

Time to brave the town centre on a mad dash to Boots and Morrisons...wish me luck!

Welcome Shelly_Crow :wave:I hope that the littlies get over their ills quickly.

Hester (((((Hugs))))). Some people are just so up themselves and don't deserve any respect, as for someone clicking their fingers :mad::mad: that is the height of bad manners and they would be told that if they did it again , I would report this person to the Head teacher and the Union. Luckily my DH works at a school where all staff are treated as equals, this is all down to the Head teacher , plus all staff and their spouses are invited to a summer barbecue at the end of term, so that they get to know each other on a personal level :D
Which reminds me I must decide which dessert I am going to make to take along and get a couple of bottles of wine....everyone puts in something.

Washing today and it is drying so fast I have told everyone to strip their beds, that will be another job out of the way.

Right off to get another load out on the line and put another load on.

Enjoy this lovely weather all and gentle (((((((Hugs))))))) for all who need one
    BFN x
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
