Next Thursday Devere are having a 48 hour sale, with rooms on offer for 10pppn. I have stayed in lots of Deveres and they vary in quality. Free tea, coffee, biscuits, fruit, newspapers etc 24/7 helps to keep the cost down. The offer extends over the Christmas period so may be useful if visiting relations.

Not fond of DeVeres myself but can't argue with £10pppn! (Otherwise known as the MSE'r dilemma
).
Would be good if we could use this thread to start naming the better ones, and which to avoid. OP?Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Thanks OP - stayed in a few Deveres that I got on offer and pleased to say they have been fantastic.
Hope to make use of this offer again - well worth the money imo.0 -
Although we have had a couple of disastrous stays at Devere (avoid Uplands Park!) it has enabled us to visit places and do things we wouldn't have been able to do otherwise...so it's a question of what you can put up with!.
I loved East Horsley, great for visiting Guildofrd, Legoland type places, Mercedes Benz world adn lots of National Trust places.
New Place Southampton wasn't that close to Southampton, but we visitied Maritime Museum in Portsmouth, Isle of Wight, New Forest from this base. They provide all sorts of free goodies - .porridge, flapjacks, juice,
Sunningdale Park - I didn't like it - very odd.
All seem to have lovely grounds which are poorly maintained
For £10 per night I can put up with a lot! Definitely a huge step up from Travelodges.0 -

We stayed at New Place when visiting Winchester. If you're willing to travel a bit this is a great base, I agree. The chalet-ish style accommodation block (which is separate from the main building) wasn't exactly pretty to look at and it could be a bit noisy with people walking right past your window but that was the only thing I could fault and once inside our room it was more than adequate. I really enjoyed my stay there and plan to visit again. Also very handy for Marwell Zoo if that helps anyone.
I'd also recommend Ponsbourne Park and would stay there again too.0 -
If you want a family room in these offers you usually have to call and they put the price up. We got rooms for £19 but needed a family room and ended up paying £49 which was actually pretty good as there was a pool and free juice, coffee and biscuits.0

I've just got to November searching for a room in Milton Keynes in the £19 promotion, hard to think MK is really that busy on a Tuesday in October, I think it's a nice idea but pretty hard to find a deal."There is no substitute for time."
Competition wins:
2013. Three bottles of oxygen! And a family ticket to intech science centre. 2011. The Lake District Cheese Co Cow and bunny pop up play tent, cheese voucher, beach ball and cuddly toy cow and bunny and a £20 ToysRus voucher!0 -
I've stayed at Cheadle House Manchester
It's in a (what looks like a) car park just off the motorway, theres gym and TGI Fridays within walking distance, & v close to a huge sainsburys & 'JL at home'. It looks great, was tidy but it's right under a flight path and the room was small.
Still a bargain for £20 though!0 -
