and this:
She airs her outrageous views because she knows that it will stimulate debate and she'll get asked back on, giving her more money in her pocket.
Not sure of which geological names she dislikes as I didn't watch but the girls name India has been in existence for quite a while.
The sister of Ashley Wilkes in Gone with the Wind was named India.
It was geographical names she didn't like not geological.Sell £1500

I heard Katie H on 5 live last night - she believes she can tell how a kid will behave from simply hearing his/her name. On that basis KH can decide whether or not she wants her own kids to mix with them. I can go one better. I can judge from what someone says whether or not they are someone I would want to mix with.
Bye Katie:wave: don't let the door handle hit your @rse on the way out!

I actually used to like "Derek B" in the late '80s...
She genuinely is an irredeemable idiot. Why can't she accept that many people (and children most especially) don't just dismiss others because of their names, skin pigmentation, height, hair colour - because those are just the outer aspects that transport the person's character about.
I've just got home from my parents' Ruby Wedding Anniversary party. There were a fair number of little children there, as my brother and most of my cousins have married and "spawned". The kids, some who hadn't met before - or not met since they were very small indeed - didn't care who was called what, they were at a nice party where there was plenty of safely-enclosed grass outside to play on and they had a fantastic time. My little niece was having a fantastic game with one of my cousin's daughters of similar age as I was leaving (dog feeding duties called!). I very much doubt that either girl will remember the other's name in a few days' time (they're only aged between 3 and 4) - but they WILL remember the fun they had playing together.
Having said this, my niece is called Carys and my cousin's daughter's name is Hannah (my dog is called Gisèle - the Big C having snatched Jasper from me last year:( ) - names which are probably "appropriate" for complete charm-vacuum Hopkins. But I would still stand by my point if they were called Charmaine, Shannen and Killer (the dog).
Incidentally, the 17th Century self-appointed "Witchfinder General", who was responsible for the dreadful torture and executions of hundreds of innocent people whom he claimed were 'proven witches' was called Matthew Hopkins. I wonder if there's any family connection...? After all, Ms. Hopkins' revolting opinions about the characters of tiny children just going by their names smacks very much of a little 'witch-hunt' itself.0 -

I suspect she might enjoy it. She seems far less choosy about who she allows "down there" than she is about which friends her children are permitted to like.0
