TalkTalk - Early Cancellation

Hey,
So, my girlfriend signed us into a 24 month contract with TalkTalk for the TV+Phone+Broadband. The broadband service is mediocre and the TV box is shockingly terrible, it keeps cutting out.
The issue I have is the absolutely awful customer service, I've probably spent more on their customer service line from my mobile than the last 4 months of payments.
Firstly, their Direct Debit system didn't work - and didnt notify us, and so cut the connection off completely. This happened twice and they deny its their fault we get no compensation, yet we have messages from bank confirming nothing was requested to be setup . Trying to get this issue resolve was bad times, so the thought of trying to resolve the issue with the sketchy TV-box doesn't fill me with joy.
Ultimately, I want to completely cancel my contract with TalkTalk all together, hand all the clobber back and sign up with a private company I've used for years who's call centre is down the road from me.
Does anyone have any advice/know if its possible to cancel out of this 24 month contract without having to pay the £15.50 a month they require?
Thanks

In a word, no. If you have service issues then you need to take them up with TT, best done by a written complaint. Don't phone, don't email.
But none of these issues allows you to void your contract without penalty.
Sounds like the discussion you should be having is with the girlfriend? No free lunch, and no free laptop

Oh, that conversion has already been had! Cant believe they even have 2 year contracts for broadband, very frustrating

I guess it was a last ditch attempt to see if anyone had some advice.0 -
The £300 YouView box you have received 'free' has to be paid for, that takes 24m in contract to make the economics work.No free lunch, and no free laptop
