having lost my old phone:o i have got this 6300 as a relpacement and i really like it, but i much prefer the 'in-ear' type ear-phones like my old phone had (sony ericson). I have yet to find any 'in-ear' type for the nokia, can anybody offer a recommendation please, or where i might find some.
thanks....

If you get a 3.5mm to 2.5mm jack adapter then you can use any normal headphones with the Nokia 6300. Maplins should do them or you can get them on ebay.

My phone came with in ear headphones included so I don't know why yours wouldn't have unless you brought it used.

Just get an AD-50 Audio Adapter off eBay for less than a fiver converts the Nokia 2.5mm jack to a standard 3.5mm jack then use whichever headset you want.

i've got an adapter but it doesnt work, whenever you push it in the phone doesnt detect it as headphones, so anything played on the media player is just pushed through the loudspeaker!

Same here I do believe nokia have made this phone so it will not work with standard headphones. I got a 3rd party converter from E Bay advertised for use with Nokia 6300. It did not work when it arrived. Same here just said incompatible headset when attached. The seller refunded me ! I think he realised that they did not work afterall.
I contacted nokia asking if their adapter would work. They replied I would need a nokia hub of some sort of hub and then a nokia wireless headset, was going to end up at over £100. I e mailed back and asked if a nokia branded ad-50 would work they never replied back !!!

I too would like a chaep solution to decent headphones

The AD-50 Adapter I got of eBay works a treat, pity it's white. But other than that well impressed. Tried it with Sennheiser CX300's and Shure E3C's.

Mine was £1.49 + £1.49 P&P from Hong Kong. Guess I was just lucky.
