Unlock question but not asking for code

I've just tried an old T-Mobile PAYG SIM in my O2 phone and it works - what a pleasant surprise. Can anyone confirm that as this has worked for T-Mobile that it means that the phone is unlocked to all networks?

Another quick question if you don't mind. Is it possible to port from one O2 Online monthly contract to another O2 Online monthly contract? It would save all the faffing around with porting to a temp PAYG number if they don't offer a reasonable deal when I ring up.
