Why does the Secretary of State not order a public enquiry? She has the power to do so and the other parties should put pressure on her to do so? The other smaller parties should also threaten to leave the Executive and put extra pressure on the Secretary of State to do the right thing.
I believe Naomi Long is doing this at present !0 -

I honestly believe that putting pressure on the Secretary of State to hold a public enquiry is the only way to out-manoeuvre the DUP and fight fire with fire. If the DUP get away with this then they will ride rough shod over everyone else as and when they want and we will be to blame because we sat on our hands and did nothing.
We should be contacting out MLAs and putting pressure on them to force the Secretary of States hand.Val0 -

It's a fairly disgraceful abuse of the process and a sign that they are desperate to hide something, IMO.
Still, with the twelfth coming up there's plenty of opportunity for them to stir the pot and get the media off the corruption story. I saw on the news this evening that the police are bringing in extra reinforcements ... a bad sign that they expect trouble. It will be interesting to see if the party for property developers makes a positive or negative contribution to calming tensions.0 -
The return parade has been banned by the Parades Commission, so now we know what the 650 extra polis are for.
Can't wait for the news on Friday evening.0 -

Not up the Woodvale Road they won't.
I suppose this means that the window cleaners will be resorting to belt sanders again? :cool:0 -

I don't even think it’s funny. I think it is disgusting. I really can't believe the DUP used a petition of concern. Clearly there was cross community support for an investigation into the brown envelope culture at the heart of the DUP.
And now Nigel Dodds tries to appeal to the knuckle draggers…
I despair sometimes. I really do.0
