Free Upgrade to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Silver Status
To earn free Silver upgrade click the following link.
Enter your membership number then a confirmation page should load and a confirmation email will be sent.
Next time you log in to your Virgin Atlantic Flying Club account it will show Silver status.
(To note you have to be a Red Member for you to get this upgrade, this will not work for Silver Members who want to upgrade to Gold)
(I'm not sure if this is a permanent upgrade or a temporary to Silver!)
I hope this can be of use to Virgin Atlantic Red Members who want a boost to Silver.

Virgin Atlantic Silver Status offers three significant benefits
- 50% extra base flown miles on every flight
- Premium Check In
- Priority if the flight you’d like to book is already full, you’ll be bumped up the queue. So if anyone fails to show up, you’ll be one of the first people we offer a seat to.
Happy Holiday-ing

Thanks for posting but I guess it's a targeted offer. It didn't upgrade me to Silver.0

I got error 500 after putting in my details to confirm0

At best you will get a temporary upgrade to Silver with this - VS are aware people are abusing the offer and asking those who have applied to prove their eligibility for it. No proof = back down to Red0

No proof = back down to RedThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

Yes, (for whatever good it will do you) you will see the change in style of your Flying club account, but within weeks they will demote you again. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. Not necessarily. It told me I'd successfully registered too but when I went into my Virgin account I'd not been upgraded. So log on to your Virgin account and see.0 -
Added, just says thank you!.....
Will post on here if I get demoted anytime soon
If I get Silver status for a couple of weeks, best I ask again if I can use my airmiles to upgrade to Prem Econ on my Virgin flight next year (I booked with Delta who are the partner and put you on the virgin flight!) Got told NO when I asked...
20 mins later, still shows Red, aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwww!!!
** had the email to say I upgraded, but am still on Red **0 -

My account still says red...?
However, I am flying to the us with virgin on Friday - I may raise the issue at the desk to see if I can get something... Worth a try I suppose!Mortgage Free Wannabe

I'm pretty sure you can only use miles to upgrade on certain fare classes, I don't think it has to do with your status.
I did this back when it was originally posted elsewhere on these forums and before it was noted that it was for members of a specific organization...I was silver, back to red...have actually now qualified for silver naturally and it says I've qualified but still showing red and so naturally I'm sure that I've caused myself a problem unknowingly but hopefully it will sort itself out.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
