Quidco offer on MSE site featured in weekly newsletter

Options
I notice on the click through from the email it says "then you'll get £5 cashback when you buy ANYTHING at Amazon." http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/quidco?utm_source=MSE_Newsletter&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=02-Jul-13&utm_campaign=deals&utm_content=177

However, after signing up as a new member (I usually use TopCashBack) and making an Amazon purchase on checking the T&Cs more closely it appears the purchase I made may not get me £5 cashback because it isn't in one of the selected Amazon catergories that they are offering cashback on.

An item of stationery which came under the "ANYTHING at Amazon" which it said on Money Saving Expert but not under the categories mentioned in the Quidco T&Cs.

I don't know if MSE has since changed the deal page, but it doesn't say 'anything', but rather 'something'.

    It then goes onto say:
Cashback website Quidco is bribing new members to join it by offering an extra £5 cashback if you buy from Amazon, even if it costs just a penny. To get this you need to go via this special link*, then you'll get £5 cashback when you buy from either the Beauty, Dental Care, Sports & Outdoor or Health & personal care department.
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/quidco

Also on the quidco link, before you sign up, it says:
To take advantage of this exclusive offer simply join Quidco and make a purchase from selected Amazon categories* via our link. We’ll then credit your Quidco account with £5, which you can spend as you wish!

    ...
*Selected Amazon categories are those shown on Quidco's Amazon retailer page offering cashback

MSE have changed it. The bit I put in quote marks in my first post referring to anything was off that page and the weekly email in my inbox also refers to any purchase.

It seems a shame that no-one from MSE has admitted the error on the original page and only changed it on the original page pretending it was like that all along. As the signup link was an affiliate link MSE will have profited off the misleading information and it's not like MSE is run by a group of volunteers, it's a big company making over £13m in profits a year and was sold to Money Supermarket last year for £87m.
