What does Fixed mean?

I mean, it's not a long word, is it? And I think a child would say well it means stuck, can't be changed, right?
I quote from my Virgin mobile welcome letter,
"In return for your fixed monthly charge, we will provide you with....."

Pretty easy to understand, and I know now there is a get out clause in the T&C, and I know I can afford the increase and all that.

But this is plain deception. They used the word fixed, not me. So why is it OK for them to increase my charges? And why do staff just shrug and say, "Nuffin we can do."

Is there really nothing I can do?
Has anyone fought this battle with Goliath and won?
