Tax isn't due till June (end of)
Date of liability is for the RFL, not the MOT, it is a DVLA site not an MOT site, DVLA do not do MOT's.
I went onto the site yesterday and it states in the bottom R/H corner; - "Site last updated: 27/02/2009" So it is nearly 2 months out of date, after phoning the DVLA to inform them of this, the response was useless and they could not care less.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
Hi i have literally just brought a vaxhal astra and have check online to see what information is held on the car before i bring it back.It is saying that the car is unlisenced does anyone no what this means?and whether i am likely to end up with a huge bill if i try and tax it?
Thank you
This usually means that the vehicle is not taxed or Sorned and the, (previous?), owner could be liable for an automated fine of £80. Although this should not be you if you have a receipt stating when you purchased it.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

What's the RFL?
Road Fund Licence, car tax!
Or as some pedantics may want to call it,(the newer version of the term), VEL = Vehicle Excise Licence.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
i've been looking at a car and did the check and it says
Date of Liability 01 05 2010
which from what i can gather here is the tax, but its been advertised as not having tax??
this is my first car and everything is getting kind of confusing!0 -
I would assume they are planning to get a refund on the tax when the car is sold. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
-
oh right ok, i didnt realise you could get a refund on your tax
thank you0 -
Would anyone please explain what this means?
Vehicle Identity Check (VIC) Marker VIC required
Does this mean that the vehicle has been a write-off and that I must check the details?0 -
what does this mean
vehicle type approval M1
thanks0 -
