Canada Holiday - Any deals on Toronto Hotels?

I have just booked my flight to Toronto with Zoom Airlines for two persons in July. I am actually going to Edmonton for wedding in family but thought with a bit extra I can see two cities. In total I paid £1275 for flights - good deal? We will be leaving on 13.7.07 & returning on 1.8.07. I have arranged internal flights from Edmonton travel agent.
Now I need accommodation for 3 nights in Toronto from 13-15 July for 2 adults and then again for 2 nights on 30-31 July. Any good deals, also any tips, must things to do in Toronto would be much appreciated. What's the best way to take money over there to spend?

we stayed in Delta Chelsea just off Younge street when we went. it's location is A1 but the hotel has the feel off resting on it's laurels .okay but not outstanding IMO
CN tower is must for all vistors , i also enjoyed Casa Loma , and the shopping. did not enjoy Bata shoe Musuem or north end of Younge street.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
The revolving restaurant at the top of the CN tower is great, but be carefull dont put your pint down on the window ledge cos it takes an hour to come back

They have a cracking theme park there to if you into that sort of thing and Niagara is well worth a visit0 -
CN Tower, Rogers Stadium Tour (The Skydome), Steamwhistle Brewery (near CN Tower), Harbour cruise out to Toronto Islands (great views of the cityscape)
If you don't fancy seeing a baseball game in the stadium you used to be able to book a table at the Hard Rock Cafe overlooking the stadium for a very small charge as long as you spend $xx on food/drink (wasn't too expensive).
Niagara definitely worth the trip to see the falls and do the Maid of the Mist - especially if you can arrange to stay there until late evening when the falls are lit up.0 -
Many thanks! to all for all the information given. CN tower & Niagara added as priority now then theme park (where is this?). Also which is the best way to get to downtown from airport please?0

Our friends book their hotel through Canadian Affair, they've stayed elsewhere in Toronto but prefer The Sheraton. They don't book their flights with C.A but hotels seem cheaper through them.

Yeah pjran, I am thinking the same as the room at Sheraton come at £35pp that looks good.0

massa121,
We booked through hotwire and priceline for May, got the Delta for £33 per night and the Sheraton for £41, they were very easy to spot with the amenities given (betterbidding.com)
The Sheraton is 4* & excellent for couples, very tranquil and business like. Delta is 3* & great for families and a massive hotel fullof hussle & bussle, we thought both were brilliant but different in their own ways.
I've just done a search on Hotwire for you and there are 2 4* hotels downtown just over £40 a night, looking on betterbidding for an idea of what hotels are they are a match for both the Hilton and the Inter-Continental which are both excellent.
Enjoy, we did

Thanks curtlyb, I personally like hussle & bussle. My wife says to get the cheapest as we are only going to be sleeping there & most of the time would be out. Sheraton comes to £210 for 3 nights. I will check Delta out. Do you bid for a room on priceline? - never been on their website.0

Also for great thrills is http://www.whirlpooljet.com/ at Niagara we went on it and its superb fun
Theres a 5 item ticket thing for niagara that is cheaper than buying seperate for maid of the mist behind the falls walk etc
oh and check out http://www.nightmares-niagara.com/
and every friday and sunday they have a monster free firework display over the falls.0 -
I've stayed at the Metropolitan hotel in Toronto a couple of times - they had deals one their website that beat anything I could find for a comparable hotel (Sheraton, Delta Chelsea, Marriott) on expedia/opodo etc.0
