Draper lifetime guarantee is useless

Draper, Silverline, Rolson, Am-Tech and many others all sell exactly the same stuff, bought cheap from China and rebranded. Often if you wait long enough, the same stuff appears in Aldi or Lidl on one of their weekly specials.
The "Draper Expert" stuff is different though, this is usually their own, but sadly still not really mean't to last 20 years.........
Want something that really lasts? You need to step up to professional level tools.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Never had any problem exchanging any tools with lifetime guarantees. Are there any marks on the breaker from, say a piece of scaffold slipped over it to give it more power? If not, drum your heels and get on to their HQ. No point offering the warranty if their not going to honour it.0

When I was on my tools I had Snap On tools replaced that were over 20 years old, some were replaced because the chrome had come off / pitted, I did work on gritters though.
Snap-On tools have drastically gone down in quality in the past few years.
I purchased my main toolkit in the early 80's, and I still have most of the original stuff now. Some items were replaced under warranty since then but the majority of the kit is still in extremely good condition.
However, a couple of years ago I was involved in compiling a couple of very large toolkits for the company I work for, and they wanted Snap On tools where possible.
SInce then, there have been many tool failures (mainly their ratchet screwdrivers and wire twisting pliers), and the general look and feel of the tools show then to be of a lower quality than they used to be.0 -

Can't see OP having a 20yr old receipt. Let's face it, almost nobody keeps receipts for this sort of stuff and I guess that's what they count on........
To any sensible person, the receipt shouldn't be needed as it's obvious from the branding that it's a Draper item. But it does allow them to use "lifetime guarantee" as a simple marketing tool.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

The branding isn't proof of purchase though.0 -
"Lifetime"....weasel words
Once your product is broken, it has reached the end of its life, therefore the lifetime has finished.

No, but why should "life time" only apply to the original owner?
A change of owner doesn't make the slightest different.........
You wouldn't expect money back, that'd just encourage thieves, but replacement? why not?“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
