Upgrade - Advice wanted

I am in the last month of my contract with T Mobile (18 month/100mins/100Txts/unlimited internet) I am paying £21.85 a month.

I have been looking around all the various websites of different companies at their upgrade options. I have found an upgrade deal on buymobilephones.net as follows;

Samsung Galaxy S4 mini on 24 month contract.
100 mins, unlimited txts via the T Mobile booster and 1 GB of data.

They are advertising that the phone is free on this upgrade plan, I keep my number and network, all I have to do is insert my sim into the new phone when it arrives.

Having not gone through an upgrade before, I am a bit unsure of exactly what happens, so could do with some advice.

Is it really as simple as it says on their website? I have had an online chat with them and they have confirmed it is as it says.

I spoke online to T Mobile, to see if they could offer me the same deal and they can't, which surprised me. They said I am probably going to be given a new contract which means I will lose my number, even though the other company said this isn't the case.

As this is an upgrade, is their anything that can go wrong, if I go for this deal with buymobilephones.net? It seems straightforward enough but you just never know. They are the only company that seem to be able to offer this phone free on a £21 a month plan and that linked with what T Mobile said has got me wondering now???

Any advice/help appreciated

The main thing that goes wrong is as tmobile said, they give you a new contract instead of an upgrade.

3rd parties can and do offer upgrades like they suggest, but a new contract makes them more money so they will usually try and give you that instead, just make sure they are giving you an upgrade not a new contract (get it in writting if possible)

The networks cant usually offer as good a deal as the 3rd parties due to them having alot more overheads, and they usually get thier phones straight from the manufacturer, whereas 3rd parties are free to source thier handsets from anywhere they like, cutting down the price they have to pay.

but to answer your question, upgrades can be very straight forward to set up.
However what they said about the sim might not infact be true. There are different sizes of sim cards, so if you current one doesn't match the phone, then it wont work and u'll need a new sim.

also remember, that any problems you have with the phone you need to goto the 3rd party to sort out, T-Mobile wont help you with it

I have just had another online chat with buymobilephones.net and printed out the chat. It could not be clearer that the phone is free the tariff is as they said and it is an upgrade not a new contract.

She spelt it out in exactly what I would be getting and I have it printed off, on the website ordering page it also clearly states it an upgrade as well.

So I think I am covered? Just need to order it.

She said I would just need to put my existing sim card in the new phone. If it is a different size, what do I do then? Will it be T Mobile that need to give me a new sim card?

    Thank sofor all advice offered.

I went back to buymobilephones.net and checked that they had stock, they said they had, so I went ahead with the upgrade.

I got an email tonight saying my order will be shipped as soon as they get stock of the phone as its out of stock..............

I have just emailed them absolutely furious after being told it was in stock and would be delivered tomorrow, now it isn't in stock and I have to wait for it.

Not very happy here now and asked for a detailed explanation how they tell me it is in stock and 2 minutes late its not. Neither is a date for when they expect to be in stock!

Will see what they come back with tomorrow and take it from there............
I was looking forward to my new toy coming tomorrow as well.....
