Refund with out of date receipt

I have tried to return a dress to telco with a receipt which is a few days out of date. The dress was £25 but has been reduced to £15. They were only going to give me £15 refund. What are my rights? Thank you

It would also be useful if you could say
-why you want to return it (i.e was it faulty or did you just change your mind)
-what do you mean by out of date? what was the date of the purchase and what date did you try to return it.
