I am considering my options whilst getting help from MSE as well as other.
Planning for the future, I will be looking to swap my current accounts to an other bank that is definately not related to my bank. Does anyone know where I can find what bank is related to what?
Many thanks in advance.

The big ones are:
NatWest = RBS
Lloyds TSB = Halifax = Bank of Scotland
HSBC = First Direct
Everyone else is independent.urs sinserly,

Not really, when the headline on the page says:
The FSA has now become two separate regulatory authorities and this site is no longer updated.
Although on a brief search I couldn't find an equivalent list on either the FCA or Bank of England websites.
I wonder if in fact we should be asking the OP what the reason for the question is. It may not be necessary to move to a bank outside of a particular group; for instance, a NatWest account is not visible to RBS employees and vice versa (although I'm not sure whether set off applies across entities, if that's what the OP is concerned about).0 -

No, that is a regulatory view hence RBS and Natwest are listed separately and yet are part of the same legal entity since 2000
Likewise it is just big names and certainly not definitive0 -

Legally, The Royal Bank of Scotland plc and National Westminster Bank plc are separate entities because they are listed separately at Companies House. They also hold separate banking licences. They are both owned by the The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc, which is another listed company.0 -
That's not true - some staff will work across brands and legal entities.
The only way to keep separate is to look outside the banking group.

But I doubt whether many of them will be customer facing staff. As an IT person I had a degree of access to both RBS and NatWest data (much reduced in later years after SOx rules came in), but never spoke to a customer in 15 years.0
