internet security on vegascart website

Options
I was google searching on google for good deals on norton internet security and found a website that popped up on the search near the top called vegascart which sold it for just £10.99! Altough the checkout did have the padlock symbol, I found it too good to be true (ive never heard of this site) so I downloaded it from nortons website for £29.99 to be on the safe side.
On google there appear to be loads of unknown sites giving it good reviews as well.
Does anyone know if this site is legit or a scam? has anyone actually bought off this site?
let us know because it would be interesting to know for next year when my anti virus expires again.

    Well...
    1. The website looks dodgy.
    2. On Web of Trust, the site doesn't get great ratings.
    3. Some of the 'approval' badges link to a certificate for a slightly different site (vegascart dot com instead of vegascart dot co dot uk)

Although, ReviewCentre has the dot co dot uk site listed and the reviewers have given it an average rating of 4/5 stars. It does have an address listed but it appears to be the address for the dot com site.

It might be okay but it's best to play it safe, the reviews could be fake as well. Also, the fact it uses the assets from the dot com site so often could mean it's an impostor trying to take the reputation of the other site.

Yes I thought it was dodgy as well, you'd think it'd be very famous selling software that cheap wouldn't you?
It also stands out like a sore thumb when you Google search Norton product prices, which is why I thought i'd ask because Its been there a while and I would have thought something would have been done about it by now if it was a scam. It's also appears to be an American run website which rang bells for me!:(
    Thanks for your reply!

Why pay for it when there's a choice of free products available? Avast, Avira, MSE and AVG seem to be among the most popular.
That's the best money saving approach and you go direct to the supplier's site to download them...

Yeah about that, I actually looked at the avast website before as it appears to be the most popular free security and it appears that the free version does not protect against 'hacking', therefore it will if you pay £29.99! And avast is famously free:o.
For next time my security expires, would it protect against 'hacking' anyway on the free version? Cos I'm confused (that's how I ended up paying for it again:rotfl:)

The paid versions always claim to give better protection than the freebies, they have to justify their existence and price tag!
No anti-malware system is perfect, but one of the free systems along with the free built in firewall that Windows has, and many broadband modem/routers have, will be adequate for most people.
Of course, if you're protecting military secrets you might want better protection, but I doubt if they use Norton for that. :)

Thanks victor2 for clarifying that for me:j! From next year it will definitely be avast all the way! (the free version that is!)

Free AV and a Free Firewall are all you need.

Firewall stops intruders from accessing your PC. But from most computers i see users just allow anything anyway.

IP:.... is trying to connect to your computer what do you want to do.. ALLOW....

    NOOOooo...

Its only as good as the user..
