Low cost monthly contract?

My Mam is retiring in a few months time, and wants to get herself a contract, so that she can pass on her personal number now, and start using it etc...
Based on her current use with the works mobile, she won't use it often, probably more so that people can contact her.
Just wondered if there are any decent deals out there at the moment, which are low in price, and don't offer too much in form of inclusive items, such as calls, texts and data.
Any advice appreciated.

Three have sim only starting at £6.90 per month with a good allowance of minutes/texts/data.
She could also consider Ovivo, minutes/texts/data for free every month.====0 -
She could just go sim only and use giffgaff or ovivo etc who have low rates0

Hi, if she doesn't want a top of the range smartphone have a look at the Tesco £7.50p/month deals, 250 mins/5000 texts/500mb of data with something such as a Samsung Galaxy Y.0

Talkmobile have some good phones on their £7.50 a month plan like the Nokia Lumia 520 or Huawei Ascend Y300.0

Not after a phone, just a sim only deal to be honest.0

The cheapest sim only deals for light use are probably going to be OVIVO and Three as already mentioned. Ovivo is obviously going to be the cheapest provided you're within the free allowance but it's not for everyone. If she's a really light user talkmobile do £5 a month sim only with 100/100/100.
I wouldn't discount the cheap monthly deals with free phone from tesco/talkmobile though as if you sell the phone the effective monthly cost could be less than the equivalent sim only deal. Assuming you're happy with the network and 24 month tie-in of course.
PAYG might be cheaper than sim only for a light user but she'd have to watch the data use if it's a smartphone.0 -
So, to be sure I've read it correctly, with OVIVO, other than the £15 cost of a sim card, providing my Mam doesn't use over 500mb data, 150 calls and 250 SMS's, it's free on the Freedom plan?0
