Offering an allowance could cause the buyer problems - it would probably be treated as a vendor gifted deposit, which lenders don't like and may refuse to lend at all.

Those floorboards look fine to me.

Further agreement, although I would point out that you have a hole near the front door that your miniature R2D2 has got stuck in - you may want to get this fixed, as an R2D2-friendly hallway tops many buyers' must-have lists.

OK cheers everyone. Maybe I am being a bit too fussy.

The hallway was probably a bad one to give as an example, the flooring in there is pretty good with hardly any nicks or paint marks, the other rooms are a bit tattier but not majorly.

I think the plan will be to scrape/sand off the remaining paint marks and try to find a light stain to match the original. I know Im not going to get an exact match but hopefully with the marks being small (ish) your not really going to notice it.

If all else fails I'll buy a cheap carpet and get R2D2 to fit it!

    Thanks guys

Having come back belatedly and seen the pic, I retract my previous advice about carpet or laminate- I didn't realise you already had sanded and sealed original boards; frankly I wouldn't worry about a few marks- they look good as is.

And I agree the others above; don't draw attention to them with any reference to flooring allowance- people will buy a house on big-picture 1st impressions, so alll the other stuff about clean, uncluttered staged interiors is probably more important. happy moving!

Viewers will just notice the general flooring (although I'm one who often forgets to look up and down at flooring/ceilings). They'll be taking a whole lot more in and probably won't notice a few paint splatters. If it's that bad, just try picking it off with a fingernail or blade, it probably won't need removing with paint strippers or anything like that, and I doubt it'll notice.
