I wore grape coloured shoes with my full length dress. Couldn't justify buying ivory shoes to wear for one day. The shoes I wore we're the news I wore it my mums wedding so knew I could sats a whole, day in them without getting sore feet.
There are no written shoes wear what you want and it's nice to be differentTurning our clutter to top up our house deposit: £3000/£303.05 we're on our way!0 -
I love the idea of wearing coloured shoes & it's something I am thinking of - a great chance to get a stunning pair of shoes! Plus, there is more chance of you using them again if they aren't typical 'wedding shoes'.
I would go for what you want, I wouldn't worry about 'tying it in', it's your & OH's day, if it's Wyatt you want, go for it :-)0 -
I'm wearing a pair of bright pink kurt Geiger shoes!
I want to be different though! Xx:j I'm getting married on 22nd Febuary 2015 :j0 -
I wore an ivory tea length dress and these beauties:

They matched my petticoats, bolero, coat (December wedding) bouquet and handbag. I still wear them regularly and I LOVE them0 -
I'm definitely on board with the coloured shoes!
Office have a sale on at the mo.
I like these red ones:

and these too:

The second pair are reduced to 28 quid as well!
I accept that red suede studded platforms are not everyone's idea of perfect wedding shoes!
Be brave and go for it! I'm sure you'll find the perfect pair. Post a link when you've chosen so we can all have a nosey!0 -
Just to come back to this thread. I am not against coloured shoes and tea length dresses. I think they can look amazing. But for me, and the style of my dress, it was a no.
If you want some inspiration look here: http://www.rocknrollbride.com/2011/02/peri-ryans-snow-drama-wedding/ The bride was Fly Dragon Fly, an MSEr who used to post in here when she was planning her wedding.
(I am all for brightly coloured shoes in my every day life - I am known for them, but in this situation, with my dress, it just didn't look right - I even tried to find some silver strappy ones but none went right. It was the hardest thing ever about a tea length dress and almost made me wish I'd gone for a floor length dress then I could have worn something amazing.)
PS Thanks Walkerbev!! I now own a pair of burgundy floral courtesan IC shoes!! lol. AND they are sooo comfy - wore them to work (on my feet all day) and there was no pinching/aching at all. :T0 -
I have a long dress but regardless of the length, I would still be wearing these bad boys:

I'm practicing walking in them on a regular basis as I don't normally wear heels!0 -

Hm see now I am going off plan and have just bought a coloured DRESS!! for my wedding... I've decided I don't want a white/ivory/champagne one... not really the blushing bride type and I think if everyone else will have their party gear on then why shouldn't I!! I do have an ivory one from BHS but still time to return it and get my money back
It's this - http://www.polyvore.com/french_connection_rust_red_sequin/thing?id=65212726 (not a photo of me modelling it though haha)...
so am now thinking I will swap my white floral courtesan IC shoes for those burgundy ones!! totally love the shoe style so I want to stick with it
anyway bit of a thread hijack there but just to say I am all for colours at your wedding - just have exactly what YOU want!CC1 £7,944.10
CC2 £2,680.03
CC3 £1,020.880
