Payment of flight delay compensation

A couple of weeks ago my flight was delayed between Gatwick and Amsterdam. The carrier has been very reasonable and has offered me compensation, however they have asked me to confirm the last 4 digits of the number of the card I used to pay for the flight. I paid for the flight on a company credit card. Is it my company who is compensated via this card, or is it me and should I provide my own card number? Will the carrier pay out to me?

By strinct interpretation of the regulation, the compensation is owed to you as passenger, rather than the company. But I can see that a company might have a policy that says, if you were delayed on office time, then you are still being paid you hourly rate and therefore that any compensation should not be kept by you. That's a debate you would need to have with your HR people!

Why not confirm that four digets of the credit card (which could be to verify your ID) but ask explicitly that you be paid by cheque?

Say you don't have the card anymore as it was lost/stolen whilst away and that the card company have now issued a new one.

NOT that it's any of their business how you paid for it.
