When it comes to Prepaid cards, no. ICE's International GBP £ Travellers Cashcard appears to be better, since the Globe card had it's rates raised.
Have just sent them an email asking them to confirm they pass on the full Mastercard rates.
There is also Kalixa Pay(purchased using their Promo Code) if you are likely to take out at least the equivalent of £130 each time.0 -
The ice GB card has a 1.85% load fee on it right away away just for putting cash on to it.
If there is a loading on the Mastercard rate too then its not going to be any better than the travelex card0 -

What a pointless statement. There is no loading indicated. I'm just asking for confirmation.0 -

What do you mean pointless?
It clearly states there is a 1.85% charge to add £s onto the card.
Now if they then charge a percentage on the Mastercard fx rate then as I said, it may be worse than the travelex globe card. If they don't then its marginally better.
Have you got anger management issues? Your tone is always aggressive .0 -

I just don't suffer fools gladly.
"Marginally better?? Why do we need you on this thread? 1.85% compared to 2.49% No £9.99 card fee..
What is marginal to you, may be real money to others.
Have you read anywhere that there is a loading of the Mastercard rate?No fees, no hidden costs, no nasty surprises
Unlike many prepaid currency cards, we won't charge you for using cash machines* or charge an 'inactivity' fee if you don't use your card. In fact our Euro & US Dollar card carry no fees at all. And, unlike most debit cards, there are no foreign currency charges each time you use your card.Cross Border Transaction: A retail purchase or cash machine withdrawal which is completed by using any of your Cards in a currency other than the currency originally Loaded onto the Wallet of the Card used. These Transaction(s) will be converted to the Account at the Standard Conversion Rate without any additional fee levied by us
So instead of making pointless posts, why not wait for my confirmation or do your own research?
Posting the obvious is hardly a virtue.0 -
One thing that I should add is that if scotty1971 already has the Cash Passport Globe card and it was issued before the 19th of November 2012. Then he should stick with it, as that still has the 1.49% charge.
The information in my earlier posts is for current applications.0 -
