Windows Vista Laptop with o2 dongle and hotspot. Connection Drops. Why?

I have a Windows laptop that runs Vista. I have an o2 dongle and an o2 pocket hotspot. I can connect to the internet without any problems using both the dongle or hotspot. However, the problem is the internet will only stay connected for a few minutes maximum before the connection is lost. You can repeat this process and you will be able to connect and remain connected for a few minutes until the connection is lost.
I can't figure out what the problem is so I was hoping one of you lovely people can help.
I have used the o2 'chat' feature twice. The first time the adviser said it was a problem with the MAC address and that it would be fixed within the hour. This didn't work. The second adviser says I needed to remove the sim and wipe it and put it back in and that would resolve the problem. I did this and it still didn't work.
I know it must be to do with the laptop having Windows Vista because I've used the dongle and the hotspot on my other laptop that has Windows 7 and there are no problems.
The main reason I want to go back to using the Vista laptop is because the screen is sooo much bigger than this laptop.
I hope someone can help, I've been experiencing this problem for about 2 weeks.

Have a look on the internet settings in your browserDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
