Hello all, my first post here.
I purchased some spray weed killer from Aldi. I put it on the back seat of the car in the shopping bag. When I got home I found that the lid had come off and spilt weed killer all over the back seat and on the floor of the car. I'm worried about the fact that my children will be sitting there at some point over the weekend and would I be within my rights to ask for Aldi ,when I see the manager tomorrow to pay for a valet clean of the back seat and carpet.
Thank you in advance of any replies.

You can ask but I doubt very much that you will get it, if you had put it in the boot you wouldn't have had the problem.0

If you put a blanket over the seat until you can clean it or it dries, then the children won't come into contact with it.
Some upholstery cleaner will deal with it - something like Vanish Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner.0 -
Cleaning up cooties is a good thing. Your children will be bullied less and in the future will thank you for your wise parenting.0

In all fairness, if it's weed killer you've bought from a supermarket it'll be about as strong as toddler wee. I would try to soak the worst up and sit the children on some towels etc but I really wouldn't worry unduly.0

Thanks all for your replies. I will put the picnic blanket on it as it has plastic on the back and I'll have to give the seat a wash when I can.
Bloody annoying though.0 -
After a similar accident many years ago I always check the lids on any screw top bottles before I put them in my trolley I think some people like to sniff them and put them back on the shelf with no thought to tighten the lid, my car smelled of disinfectant for months ....0

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Are you actually for real OP? No store will pay for your own stupidity, you know. Next time, check the lid is on securely, and place it within your vehicle securely - problem solved.
It's people like you who make my blood boil.0 -
Whether he's stupid or not isn't the issue surely? The lid should have been secure, supposing it was bleach? It's perfectly reasonable to expect a decent level of packaging.0

I would be irritated if I bought a bottle of squash and it spilt everywhere...or if I bought a bottle of bleach and it didnt have the lid on...REGARDLESS about whether she should have put it in the boot..who cares??!we all put shopping in different places...I suggest you put yours in a different place as quite clearly it is up your.....(add own word)0
