paying a PCN?

I have ignored every letter received, latest is giving me one last chance to pay and they will decrease the cost from£160 but I have to call them to discuss what they now wish to charge me.
I am concerned because the advice to ignore doesn't seem relevant any longer. What would my best action be now? Call them, continue to ignore, write to them?
Has any one the best course of action for the best result.

Your heading is misleading of course because no-one pays a fake PCN on here.

Which scammer and/or which debt collector (if they are sending you junk mail) and what's the timeline of when you received each letter?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ah right, having gone this far I'd carry on ignoring if I were you. There's no guarantee that they will not spring a surprise and chance their arm on a court case, but last time they did (quite a while ago now) they got their backsides spanked by the judge in a most entertaining way.

Thanks for the reply and advice. It's interesting that you said that the last time they took some one to court was a long time ago or is it a long time ago since they took some one to court and lost.
Just wondering how often they do take people to court.

Indeed, the last time they tried and the last time they lost were one-and-the-same. And they lost so crushingly that the judge threatened their legal eagle with imprisonment!

You only have to look at the Excel and VCS listings in the 'PPC letter chains' thread at/near the top of the forum. You are asking stuff that's already shown there (important, do NOT look at the link that takes you to pepipoo forum; look at the OLD pre-October archived link pics hosted on MSE). The pictures of all your letters are shown under Excel or under any other PPCs which use these letters, have a good look. Then when you look at the VCS listing you will see the court case we are talking about linked there.

Read it (VCS v Ibbotson) and laugh! VCS haven't tried Court since that we know of.
