Hi,
I'm normally happy to get a box of 100 tea bags in pound shop, yes for a pound.
I like my tea black, stewed, like tar, no sugar, no milk, just tar, taste the difference.0 -
Yet another vote for the Knightsbridge tea bags from Lidl. We used to drink PG Tips or Tetley and following previous comments on this MSE site we tried the Lidl's ones and haven't switched back. Actually prefer them to PG Tips now ( which they have at work)0

Sainsbury red label for me although I prefer to drink the granules0

It's Yorkshire tea all the way for me, Iceland does an 80 pack for £2.50 (was £2.25 for a long time), every few months the packs become 100% extra free, so 160 for £2.50. I work there so get a 10% discount and buy loads of them, to last me however many months it is until they return.
Otherwise personally I didn't rate the Sainsburys basics as well as others here, but I do think the Sainsburys red label cannot be distinguished from PG tips, so if that's at a decent price It's another option.
I haven't tried Lidl's offerings but since I find their quality great for the price, I bet they might beat Sainsburys offerings.0 -
From tomorrow fellow tea drinkers Yorkshire Tea (160) bags 500g are 2.37 at Tesco.... Thanks to nicster 08 on hot uk deals for original post0

I don't know if any of you like fruit/flavoured teas, but for anyone that does, I got a box of 40 Lipton's Cinnamon and Apple tea bags in Sainsbury's a couple of days ago for 89p. I think they're on one of those 'better than half price' type deals at the minute. They're by far the best cinnamon and apple tea bags I've ever had, so if anyone likes that flavour, try them!
As for normal tea bags, I'd say Sainsbury's basic tea bags are the best ones, as several others have said.0 -
Twinngings everyday bought in 1200 packs from Makro works out about same price as own brand (not basics - there was nearly a strike when someone got basics tea for the office)People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

I have to say that sainsburys basic are the best taste and value, they are far better than asda and tesco value tea bags and being fair trade is an added bonus. If you need it stronger just leave the tea bag in for a bit or more moneysaving use less milk !!My Motto in Life:

It's been a while since I tried the Sainsbury's basic teabags but the one time I did I really hated them. I've recently been using the Tesco 27p for 80 teabags and they are pretty good.0

I have to agree Tesco 27p basic teabags for me too.
