Tetley teabags are my brew of choice but I sometimes buy Typhoo if they're on offer.
Now I've noticed the price of these has rocketed in recent months and there's been very few offers on....so what alternatives are out there for the budget minded shopper ?

I use the following shops....Sainsbury's,Tesco,Iceland and Lidl

Cheers :coffee:

I used to drink PG Tips until I worked out the price.

I now drink the Sainsbury Smart Price (whatever their value ones are!!) ones and they are perfectly acceptable. In fact I had a friend round who decided they liked my tea when I was drinking PG and she said that she was glad I still drank decent tea. I did not enlighten her :D

The Twinings ones look to be as expensive as the top brands :(

    Keep 'em coming folks lol
  • I used to only drink yorkshire tea or Waitrose own, but have discovered that the Sainsburys super value brand are fab, and only 27p for 80!!, when I first bought them , I got hubby to do a blind test for me with Yorkshire, so I wouldnt be biased that the cheap ones were rubbish ..... I couldnt tell the difference!!

That's ridiculously cheap,I do like quite a strong cuppa and whenever I've bought cheap bags before they usually taste rather weak.

Another vote for sainsburys basics tea, or normal tetley when I'm not near there

I can drink tea for England :D, and my favourite tea bags are Tetley.

Shame you don't have a Morrison's or Asda, as their own brand tea bags are nice if there's no deals on the Tetley.

I buy Yorkshire or Twinings but try to get them when they are on offer.

I did try the Sainsburys Basics and they are not too bad but not fantastic and people could tell the difference! - Very cheap though.

I did find some Twinings Breakfast in the 99p shop once and wish I had stocked up more!
