it may be against hsbc t&c's to operate a personal account for business use. probably the same for most of the other banks too.
you could have moved banks if you didnt like the way they do things.

    why does that matter?
Because you accused them of "RA PING the interest from" you. How much was it?
If you meant the interest you pay them, what if you don't pay any?

i dnt pay myself a couple million pounds bonus at the end of the year to be honest mate.
You are welcome to apply for the job and to pay yourself a couple of million. Let's face the facts: not everyone is capable of doing this job.

As stated you accepted the terms and conditions when you set up the account, your continued use of the account when HSBC changed the T&C's means you accepted those new terms and conditions.

Why should you be exempt of these charges when other businesses also have these same charges applied to their account?

It doesn't matter how big or small your company or organisation is they all have to pay to use there business accounts and the features and facilities they offer.

The only answer anyone can give is find an account that charges you less than what you pay HSBC now and move to that account. You won't find many banks or building societies that offer free business accounts.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

my anger is at the extortion of the banks not other businesses, the fact that IT IS NOT LEGALLY REQUIRED to have a business account as a sole trader but the banks FORCE you to get one so they can charge you just for the pleasure seems illegal and immoral. And to the other guy, what do these bankers actually do that is so hard to get millions of bonuses? Its not like they are masterminds and our country never goes into recession or the economy tits up because these guys are so good. Oh wait... didnt something like that just happen and they still get huge rewards? Hm interesting, interesting.

What does the taxman have to do with this? Getting cash doesn't necessarily mean avoiding taxes.

Yes, that's why I said 'necessarily'. And I still don't understand why you want to punish the taxman for the banks' alleged crimes. Are you just looking for an excuse?
