So I've had a quick look at my totals as of today. They are as follows: -
First Direct CC £2,039.68
Coop CC £6,764.27
Lloyds loan £8,615.84
TOTAL £17,419.79
However, I have got some interest to go on the First Direct card, that will show tomorrow and on the COOP, which shows on the 14th. This means my total debt will go up a bit. I will have a more accurate figure during the middle of the month when the loan has been paid and interest added.
My phone and broadband line has been installed today, so I'm looking forward to going home to set it all up. Hopefully I will be able to update my diary from the sofa tonight!October make £10/day currently £11.020 -
Hi Avogirly, just thought I would say hello, was just reading your diary. Good luck with your debt busting, I'm sure you will get there!
What is the shop and scan you mentioned? I quite often use the calculator on my phone when I'm food shopping, but if there's a shop and scan app or something it would be fabby!
Will subscribe to your diary to keep up to date!1st Jan 2014 £20,600 / 1st Jan 2015 £15,572.90**Feeling Hopeful that 2015 will be our Debt Free Year**0 -

Thanks for visiting!
With regards to the scan as you shop thing, my local Mr T's has got this service. As long as you have a clubcard you can pick up one of their mobile scanners and zap each barcode as you go round the shop. The display shows your scanned items and your current total cost (including savings). I'm going to give it a go next Monday when I will report back!October make £10/day currently £11.020 -
Whoop whoop! £10 has appeared in p-pal account this morning from some surveys I have done. This has been transferred to my current account and will do straight off my FD credit card! Really pleased with that today!October make £10/day currently £11.020

So i'm away for a few days now. Back Saturday night. Not sure what the internet reception will be like, so I thought i'd better check in now. Its all planned spending and will take a bit of will power to be strong and not spend, but i'm pretty determined. Fingers crossed.October make £10/day currently £11.020

Sounds like a great service with the scanning on the way round the shop. I usually go to Mr A's because I spend more in Mr T's for some reason! Have downloaded an app to do my shopping list in, which I think allows you to add up on the way round so will see how that goes this afternoon.
Enjoy your time away, and I hope your willpower holds out!1st Jan 2014 £20,600 / 1st Jan 2015 £15,572.90**Feeling Hopeful that 2015 will be our Debt Free Year**0 -
Thanks MrsSmith2013. I'm so proud of myself as the willpower held and I didn't spend a penny over my allocation of £20 for the whole time I was away! It was seriously hard at times, but nothing I would have bought there would give me the satisfaction that I am currently feeling!
Today is a shopping today, so I'm off to Mr T's tonight with my list and am going to try the scan and shop.October make £10/day currently £11.020 -
Morning! I was meant to go shopping last night, but there had been such a bad accident that town was gridlocked and I just couldn't get to Mr T's. So I shall have to go on Wednesday. We're not desperate for food so an extra couple of days isn't going to hurt too much.
Not a lot else to report. My loan comes out tomorrow so I will be able to work out new total's by the end of the week. I like to wait until the interest for the month has been added otherwise I always think I have paid off more than I actually have!
It's another beautiful day, I have got a quiet weekend coming up so I hope this weather continues.October make £10/day currently £11.020 -
You aren't useless! But sometimes we have to have a kick up the butt to REALLY focus us. Doesn't matter whether it is debt busting, weight loss, ebaying or cleaning the house. It always SEEMS easier to take the path of least resistence, but when it comes down to it, it is a slippery slope instead into trouble!
Have you done the dreaded SOA (even if just for yourself and your OH, if he needs a prod ref spending)? Might be worth a go.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Hi chev, thanks for your comments.
Yes I have done my SOA and we are well on our way to having quite a good budget now. I have to be quite strict with my OH as he can get a bit carried away but I am 100% focussed, and I'm hoping it continues. I read somewhere that takes (I think) 60 days of doing something continuous to become a habit and this is what I am striving for at the moment! I also have got things to aim for when I meet certain milestones, and this is keeping me motivated too. I know it's going to take time and won't happen overnight, but I know that I will get there and that day is going to be glorious!October make £10/day currently £11.020
