Why am I useless at this...

So, as you can see I have been visiting this site for a number of years. In this time I have started quite a few diaries, had a name change (thinking it would be a fresh start!) paid off some debt, got in a bit more debt and put my head in the sand thinking this would all go away! However,I know it won't. I am now 32, going to be 33 at the beginning of July. I got married earlier this year to the most amazing man who I love more than life itself. We want to set up our future together, and I cannot do this with a massive cloud of debt hanging over me. This means that I need to get myself on a serious mission with regards to paying off these debts.
I'm so lucky that my parents have allowed us to live with them in an outbuilding at home, this means that we don't have a mortgage or rent to pay right now. I've got no excuse why I cannot get rid of my debts as quickly as possible. My husband and I would like to start a family, but I don't want to do this until all the debts have been paid off. He also has debts from setting up his company, and I know that he wants to settle those before we move on too. I have done a spending review and I know that there are a couple of areas I can work on. My pet insurance has crept up over the past couple of years and I have been useless and not shopped around for a cheaper deal. I also stupidly decided to join the gym, and I have only been once in the last couple of months......it's with Virgin Active, so I need to cancel that before 17th ofJuly.
We are having a new phone and broadband line installed next week (through BT and quidco and getting £50 Sainsbury's vouchers!) This means that I will be able to access this diary from home which will hopefully keep me on track all the time.
I have a great job working for my family business and I enjoy helping run our small firm. I do not have the option to work overtime or a part time job as I work long hours already.
My debts are as follows: -
Lloyds loan £8,615.84
COOP CC £6,906.27
First Direct CC £2,769.68
TOTAL £18,291.68:eek:
Today I was paid and I have allocated all my July money to the relevant places. This means I have paid £730.00 to my FD CC and £142.00 to my COOP CC. I haven't included these figures on the totals above as they are not showing on their accounts yet.
I have joined the Justifiably Unanimous Lockdown Yomp https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4676915 challenge and I intend to religiously stick to it. It's going to be tough and I'm sure there will be days when I really feel down and want to blow all efforts out of the water. I'm pretty useless at keeping to anything, but I need to start (again!) somewhere and I hope that this is going to be it! I'm off to work out daily spending and when I can have SFD's. I also need to work out what social activities are taking place (hubby's birthday).
I'm sorry if I waffle or talk rubbish, which I'm sure I will.
Oh, if you are still reading (well done for getting this far!) I have done a snowball, which at the moment is showing a DFD Aug 14. If I am able to achieve this then I will be absolutely delighted!
So onwards and upwards! :beer:Here's to ebaying like crazy, strange dinner concoctions, free nights in, free nights out, many hours on MSE,making do & mending, value products, budgeting, rebudgeting and most definitely watching those totals falling like crazy!

Home time for me now....I don't have internet at home so I have to dash up to the parents house to use theirs......I will check in over the weekend. Hopefully it will be a quiet one for me spending wise. I am going out tomorrow to a fete, but will try to have lunch before we leave so I don't have to spend whilst we are out.
Hope everyone has a good weekend. xOctober make £10/day currently £11.020 -

I just quickly wanted to check in. The weekends are difficult for me as I don't currently have internet access.
Things are going well, I've had a SFD day which I am really pleased about. Lets hope tomorrow goes in the same direction. I'm also really looking forward to starting the challenge on Monday 1st July. I know its going to be tough, but I'm determined to change this time.
Hope everyone else is having a good weekend.October make £10/day currently £11.020 -

Good Morning MSE World!!!!!!!
Things are great today. It's the first of July, I'm super motivated, this is going to be an amazing month and I will not let spending get out of control.
I had an awesome weekend, with no scary spending. I was treated to an Ice cream on Sunday which was yummy, but I didn't have any unnecessary spending on either day (the weekends are my downfall).
I know this month is going to be really hard but I'm so determined. I want to go to Glastonbury next year debt free. I know that is a tall order, but I need to set myself a goal and this is it!October make £10/day currently £11.020 -
Small Steps
So last night I went shopping. I had a budget of £27. I used my phone as my calculator and I even had the husband who kept asking for things not on my list! However, I stuck to my guns and spent a total of £27.71. I got everything I needed, so I'm really pleased.
I also found out that if you use the scan as you shop at Mr t then it adds up the total as you go round! So that's what i'll be trying next Monday.
I'm really pleased with myself. Today is a SFD!October make £10/day currently £11.020
