HSBC increasing charges, suggestions for an alternative?

I spoke to the Barclays manager today. All they can offer is 6 months free banking then regular charges apply. And in my case, those charges workout about 20-25% more than what HSBC are going to charge me come September.0

It is for exiting customers. But new customers pay £7.50 a month.0

I take it that that's an assumption on your part. ...
I take it that that's an assumption on your part.
I know what my flyer says because I read it.
I've also read the Business Banking letter, in particular the second page, about 3/4 way down that has a similar comment about full terms & conditions will be available from 01 September0 -

Better than you read my post, I hope:cool: where I questioned whether the flyer "identified all of the changes" - something you appear to be assuming to be so.
What changes to terms do you anticipate, that are not included on the flyer???
Edit: Just to remind you, your earlier post that I responded toOn the flip-side, from 1st September:
For Small Business Account: £1.10 for the first cheque deposited, then 30p per additional cheque.
For Electronic Banking Account: £1.30 for the first cheque deposited, then 40p per additional cheque.
That is a hell of a change from FREE!
The only positive aspect is that HSBC Business customers have been given the facts. HSBC Personal customers have been given a flyer that can be paraphrased as
Your Terms, Conditions and Charges change as from 1st September. Details of these changes will be available from 1st September. If you choose not to accept these changes you have the right to close your account before the changes take effect.
Dear Oh Dear!
Best you first re-read what you posted, then read the flyer again, and then see:
1. You did not question "whether the flyer "identified all of the changes""
2. Spot the error in your interpretaion of what you thought the flyer said, and what it actually says0 -

They then spoke to a Private Banking relationship manager who said I needed to speak to Business Banking who again deny the product exists and then says I need to speak to a Private Banking relationship manager
Basically no one knows who deals with it.
So had a call on Thursday from their Private Banking Complaints Manager who said he didnt know who dealt with it either. Had another call this morning saying that over the last 2 days he's been trying to find out about their Private Business Banking but still cannot find anyone that deals with it.
No wonder no one mentions it from BoS if even the complaints guys cant get to the bottom of who "owns" the product that is listed on their public website0 -

applied for cater allen account via the forms and address given on the link.
had a response from them a few days later to verify my identity - just a letter requiring a signature (had already supplied photocopy of passport and a bank statement).
so at least we know the referral is working. I will report back on service and to confirm the offer (no minimum balance of £5k required).0 -
Does anyone know if Cater Allen would accept dormant accounts.0
