EuroCarParts and Yodel....

Options
Just a quick warning to anyone who is thinking about ordering from EuroCarParts; they do use Yodel for delivery and if my experience is anything to go by, you're better off at a local factors or GSF.

I ordered a part for the old Xantia 15 days ago and after calling yesterday, it turns out that Yodel are incapable of delivering the package because they claim my address doesn't exist. 400 year old house that Royal Mail find nearly every day..

Anyway I've asked for a full refund from EuroCarParts only to be told that I won't get a refund until Yodel return the package to them.

So until Yodel return the package to EuroCarParts, I'm well out of pocket and if they don't return it...I'm pretty stuffed and will have to take time to escalate into minor legal action.

Pretty shabby company policy as far as I'm concerned; I would have thought that until EuroCarParts deliver the parts I have paid for, the responsibility for the loss would be their's and not mine.

Still hopefully this might sway some other people who might be thinking of ordering from them online to maybe think again at the possible consiquences

Have not ever bought anything from Eurocarparts but have had my own issues with Yodel and parcels disappearing! I get my car bits and pieces from Opie Oils and get a really good level of service. Good luck with your parcel :-)

It is on them. How did you pay for them?

Do you have the option to collect from a Yodel depot or anything though?

    Or a local EuroCarParts.

I thought that there was a part of the DSR that stopped companies from holding the funds until they receive the item back.

Even so I don't blame them for holding the payment, because if you were an iffy person you could send them a brick back in the post.

Btw if anyone is ordering online from ECP check their sister site carparts4less first, nearly always cheaper.

Well I could but in this case I haven't even received the parts. This is not a returns issue but an "incapable of delivery" issue. EuroCarParts have already contacted Yodel who have confirmed they can't deliver because they can't find the address.

I've tried contacting Yodel to collect from the depot but despite 30 mins on the phone and 4 attempts to communicate using the online chat, no-one is answering.

What goes around - comes around
  • ordered £40+ worth of parts for next day turned up before 11am time slot they gave, i have had no issues with ECP delivery.
  • All my ECP stuff arrives with Yodel no problems , Use the Click and collect if theres a store local to you.

Sister company Carpartsforless use UPS and again I've had no problems with them either.

Had exactly same problem with Eurocarparts, told them I wouldn't use them again whilst they use Yodel.

Useful info regarding UPS & Carpartsforless, worth giving them a try...

I had four Iphone 5's stolen from Yodel as Carphone warehouse use them, my nearest depot is a mere fifteen minute walk but I was not allowed onto the premises to collect my phone.

After almost five weeks CPW finally agreed to let me collect a phone from store, I then found out this was simply Yodel delivering my phone to the shop and none of them arrived so in the end CPW had to cancel my contract and start a new one in store under the same terms.

I would never use an online service that had any link to Yodel. Whether Yodel return your package or not you are entitled to a refund.
