Good customer service waitrose/pringles following complaint

Just wanted to share my recent experience of Pringles Customer service and Waitrose customer service.
I purchased a can of Xtra spicy chilli sauce (£2.48 - bought on a 2 for £4), on opening found that most had no flavouring on them or only a little at the edge (not much good when they are part of their xtra flavour range).
So i called the number on the can and spoke to a nice lady at pringles who took the details of the product and my details assured me they would look into the manufacturing and then send me a letter confirming the outcome plus a £3 voucher.
Thank you very much.
Popped into waitrose, no questions asked offered a double refund (cash) 1 for the cost of the pringles and 1 so i could purchase my next can for free.
Very impressed with the service and well worth the effort of popping in to say.

That's excellent customer service from both Waitrose and the manufacturers of Pringles. Well done. Maybe you should change the thread title to reflect this?0

So you paid £2 for a can of Pringles - that's 75p more than any normal person pays. Hardly good service from Waitrose.
The Pringles were faulty. You separately contacted the manufacturer and the shop. Each offered a refund. Bog standard service if you ask me.0 -

£2.30 to £2.50 is the normal selling price for Pringles in most supermarkets.

"Bog standard" would mean that the OP received a replacement can of pringles or a refund of the price paid.
For an outlay of £2, what they received in return for the dodgy product was a voucher for £3 and a cash refund of double the amount originally paid.
Most people would class that as good customer service.0 -
No, it is canny consumer behaviour, not especial service. Yes, there's a free product in addition to a replacement. Hardly noteworthy.shaun_from_Africa wrote: »Most people would class that as good customer service.
And absolutely no-one other than druggies on munchies raids spend more than £1.25 on a tube of Pringles.0 -
Lawks-a-daisy. I bet you love their bargain half-price wines, too?shaun_from_Africa wrote: »£2.30 to £2.50 is the normal selling price for Pringles in most supermarkets.

Try Aldi's version of Pringles called "Stackers", they are lovely!Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £18,886.270

Never eat another pringle again, not since I found a rather nasty looking baked on ant on one and customer services told me it wasn't an ant without even looking at it - head, body, legs - all there.0

Aren't pringles a bit like Muller yoghurts? No-one should EVER pay full price?0

I wouldn't say its good customer service from either pringles or waitrose I would say its expected customer service (product was faulty refund was given)
What I would say is good is OP used it to her advantage to complain to both supermarket and manufacturer to get double her money. This is not something I would have thought of, in the past I have been given refunds for faulty foodstuffs from either the supermarket or the manufacture but it had never occurred to me to speak to both. I will do next time. thanks
