PPI advice needed

Hi, a few weeks ago I received a letter from RBS asking if I would like to claim back PPI from loans relating to an old account I had with them.
I filled the forms in half expecting a reply saying I was not entitled to any of it back - I was not even aware if I had it on my loans.
Anyway fast forward to yesterday and I received a response offering my alloy more than I was expecting......
great news you would think..... nope, at the time I was with my ex girlfriend and it requires her to also sign the form accepting their offer.
now I may sound selfish here but, she did not contribute anything to these loans at all, it was just that she was named on the account at the time and was promptly removed when we split up, prior to the loans being paid off.
is there a way to get round this? I know for a fact if she gets wind of this she will be rubbing her hands together for half of my refund - I would rather have nothing back than let her have money for nothing

You got no chance. You wont get anything without your ex signing it as well. Classed as a joint application and not single.0

ouch!
would she have had to sign the loan forms in the first place? I have no recollection of her doing so.
I know for a fact she wasn't on the account at the time of all loans being taken out.
is it worth sending the form back without her signature and arguing the case with them if and when the matter arises?0 -
You can argue that your share could be paid out, but it's not likely, because if it's in joint names, you may have to pay it into a joint named account. Ask them.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

I suppose I could offer her £100 or so to agree in writing for the full amount to be paid into my name and get her to sign the form.
thing is if she smells money she will be after a lot more.
it annoys me coz she has caused me enough trouble and money in the past and now she is gonna walk way from this with cash for nothing!! :mad:0 -
I doubt it, just be honest and tell her straight, all my PPI's were done in my name only when I taken out these credit cards and loans but I still with my partner and she knows, but she also knows it belongs to me.0

I get what your saying, but you don't know her, she will want half knowing fine well that she is not owed a penny and that I cannot do a thing without her signature.0 -
Does not matter how you feel about her. If you had a joint mortgage for example and she paid nothing towards it, if then you both sold the house you still owe her HALF.......... after obviously paying back what you owe the bank etc. Even if her name was not on the mortgage and you live together for a period of time, it makes no difference. But this PPI your enquiring about sounds like a joint one, you owe her HALF.0

thanks for your input, but I owe her nothing!! and like I said if I HAVE to give her half I will not proceed with the claim.0 -
Principles don't pay the bills. I rather half something ( and something is better having nothing and being skint ) rather than spite someone else.0

its a difference of opinion then I guess
i do appreciate what your saying and your is advice is more than welcome, i have just re-read what i wrote above and i have come across as a bit of a **** so for that i apologise
she has put me through hell in the past and a lot of debt to go with it which i am only getting on top of now after many years and to think that she (rightly or wrongly) can have a nice sum of cash for nothing boils my blood!0
