Interesting times ahead in ata land.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

It has two directors:
JOHN LLEWELLYN GLADSTONE DAVIES of Congleton
and
WILLIAM HURLEY of Winsford.
It appears that they are also both directors of Gladstones Solicitors Ltd. and Patron Hallow Ltd., which are both in the same building as Independent Parking Committee Ltd.
Parkshield Collection Ltd. (a PPC which appears not to be a BPA member) is also in the same building.Je suis Charlie.0 -
The new ATA will not be subscribing to POPLA.
It is indeed run by the above people.
Not sure Parkshield is a PPC (nor have I looked)Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

It is most assuredly a PPC, right down to a crappy online PCN payment form:
http://www.parkshieldgroup.com/
IPC is at:
4 The Stables,
Red Cow Yard,
Knutsford
Parkshield is at:
3 The Stables,
Red Cow Yard,
Knutsford
Gladstones and Patron Hallow are at:
1 The Stables,
Red Cow Yard,
Knutsford
Moderators please note: these are company addresses, they are not the private addresses of the individuals named above.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Aside from the fact that IPC Ltd will be establishing its own IAS let's look at the situation from the viewpoint of the average motorist. The only CoP in the open is that of the BPA whilst one would expect IPC to produce its own. How is the motorist going to cope with two inevitably differing and quite likely competing/conflicting CoP's?
Perhaps the DVLA will gird up their loins, take ownership of the CoP and oblige any ATA - the BPA, IPC or whatever to work to a common document rather than leaving the poor bl**dy motorist to work out the difference. Since when, however, has common sense contributed to any action of the civil service? My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).

That had occurred to me but you have put it more eloquently.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I know a new ata will be good on many levels. But lets face it the members of this new club will be issuing unlawful penalties to motorists, no matter which ata they will be in.
Unless of course they actually engage people who are the motorists at the sharp end of their actions. If they actually managed car parks not just put cameras up, and actually have no financial interest in issuing tickets then I can't see what a huge difference it will make.
There is a place for car park management as in retailers paying them to be there to help shoppers, keeping the place tidy and clean, and ensuring that things are running smoothly. Issuing a ticket should be the last thing in mind. And if one is issued I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be above £20 - £25 at the maximum, with none of it going to the parking company as they are paid to be there to begin with. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

After all if these so called parking management companies were actually efficient (and did what they say they do when we all know that it is a euphemism for "taxing" the motorist) there would be no need for any tickets in the first place. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).

Most PPCs certainly all those using ANPR are not managing parking at all they are merely there as a deterrent to prevent motorists from parking too long & thus ensure that there are always places for 'genuine' shoppers. Most car parks don't suffer from lack of apses. Those in city centres would be better managed with barriers on entry/exit with a ticket either paid for or refunded at the tills when goods are purchased.0
