New mobile contract

Hi guys,

I have finished my contract with 3 and got my PAC code.
There deals were very poor.

I am looking at getting a powerful smartphone on a 12 month contract. I use around 100 mins, 500 texts and 250-500mb of internet.

I am a student and if I can get a deal direct with Vodafone, I can get 20% off due to my mum being part of a discount scheme through work.

I am looking to spend a max of £36

I am quite flexible with the mins and texts.

Thanks

You would need to be flexible with your contract duration expectation too.

24 months is standard for a smartphone, 18 months at a push, but the monthly charge will be higher. 12 months are the domain of SIM only deals with a cheap bundle.

Ok thanks, I see where you are coming from.

If you see any good deals, let me know

What do you think of the above deal?

£35 a month for 12 months. Works out to £420- the phone is worth £350.

Does this seem legit, is it a second hand phone?

    What do you think?

    Buy Nexus 4 for £279 and use on Ovivo (150+200+500, £15 one-off).
    (279+15)/12=£24.50

    Ok, seems pretty good.

What do you think of the Virgin offer, too good to be true?

I am not a student, but even for me £10 p.m. is a big difference for a mobile toy.

Your contract hasn't 'finished'. It continues to run until you give notice by using your PAC. All that has finished is the minimum term.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I 100% agree. As previously stated by me (12 months into a 24 month contract) contracts are for dummies (I was a dummy but I saw the light :D).

Ps Ovivo have upped the text allowance to 250.

Vodafone dont really do good 12month deals with phones. So if you looking for vodafone, it'll be better to buy the phone then get sim only

What about a Huawei ascend Y300?

It is only £59.99 on PAYG upgrade (get one of your friends on PAYG with one of major networks to get this for you.-)

Then unlock it yourself and move to Ovivo (£0 per month).

Save your money for more important things and enjoy your phone without the stress and hassle of a contract.

Expensive contract phone just make you a magnet for thieves and pickpockets.
