ok - will phone home (yes, just like ET!) this eve...and get some tips!
nb. are you going to have a car with you?
I've made my debts bite-size too depressing to look at all at once so am handling them one at a time - first up Graduate Loan £1720 paid off! only £280 to go!!!
Money to raise for tuition fees: £3000
When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!!

I'm going to visit my brother who lives in Torpoint..any tips on cheap days out? :p
  • Look out for The Cornishman and West Briton. My friends near Penzance always get those papers and they're always full of vouchers.

I used one last year for Paradise Park (Hayle). Looked on the website and it looked an ok place to go. Was pleasantly surprised - it was FAB!! Lots of birds but lots of other animals too. Gardens are lovely and adventure playground for the kids (and big kids!)

The flying bird show was fab. Highly recommended. Can't remember how much it was, with or with out voucher, sorry, but they do a pass aswell so you can go back for a year.

Good luck. I will look out for vouchers too as I have access to lots of local papers ;-)

That would be good, i usually use vouchers and save money on entries to places, but seem to be a bit thin on the ground.

Newspapers for Cornwall are The Cornishman covering Penzance, Penwith and the Isles of Scilly.

The West Briton covering Falmouth and Penryn, Helston and The Lizard,
Redruth and Camborne, Truro and Mid Cornwall

The Cornish Guardian covering St Austell, Newquay, Lostwithiel and Fowey, Bodmin, Wadebridge, Camelford, Launceston and Bude, Liskeard.

All of these are weekly newspapers (published Thursday) and generally have vouchers and offers on a regular basis for local attractions. There are also loads of published leaflets some with discount vouchers to attractions in shops, pubs, garages etc. However just taking in the natural beauty of the area is completely free.

Tourist board site here very useful.

Personal experience indicates lots of visitors just prefer to wander and roam through the local supermarkets and chain stores - can't count the number of times I've been asked for Woolies, M&S etc.... :D
