Parking Charge Notice from a company called parking eye

I have received a parking charge notice from a company called parking eye for parking in a retail park for 4 hours. Apparently you are only allowed to park there for 2 hours. I was un-aware of this and not noticed any of the signs.
I spend most of my time in b&q talking about a new kitchen and made small purchases (paint and screws about £ 30 not got the receipt) visited pc world and made a small purchase in Argos. Once i finished shopping my daughter and i got a burger from the resident burger bar on site and eat this in the car. Is there any way i could appeal against this charge or is it just easier to pay the charge?

Did you get this on your windscreen or in the post ?
And no, you shouldn't pay it.0 -
With the amount of coverage on this forum, I suggest you do a little research on the subject by reading previous replies.0

OK. They've already spent £2.50 trying to track you down which is good.
Now what you need to do is put in a soft appeal to Parking Eye. You should respond something like :
Dear Parking Eye,
Regards PCN ref xxxxxxx - the registered keeper does not accept you have the authority to issue the PCN. Please either cancel the PCN or provide a POPLA code.
Yours,
Print Name ( don't sign it )
Then wait for their response and come back here when you hear from them.0 -
Good point.

And only make this challenge if in England or Wales . Also make a complaint to the retailers in question, and whoever owns the retail park, check on google. Are you or anyone in the vehicle considered disabled under the Equality Act? Finally did you get the Notice to Keeper within 14 days of the parking incident ?When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Boltonians - please start a new thread as any advice given here on your case might get mixed with advice given to the OP (and vice versa) and could result in (possibly expensive) confusion.
Help will be readily available once you've reposted - just copy and paste your above post. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
