Please bear with me folks, I'm a novice at this.
I spotted a bargain on the Dell Outlet site on Friday 22nd April for an Inspiron 510m Laptop, which when priced came up at £211.08 (including VAT & delivery). I placed the order, then got a phone call a few hours later saying that this was a 'mis-price'.
Having read some of the previous posts, I can see there is a bit of a history behind this sort of thing. Can anyone enlighten me about Dell mis-pricing, and is is worth me pursuing them to try and secure this laptop? (I've already sent 3 emails).
Many thanks..........0 -
Hi Supertrooper - nope, from what I've read (no experience) Dell started quoting "misprice" several months ago as reason not to supply; it's unlikely you'll get anything from them. Last year they used to process all orders at these prices, but not any more. (And let's be honest, for £211 delivered it was too good to be true !)
Keep looking !
Oh, and I've been looking too and not seen anything - after a laptop for a friend. Don't forget that there's lots of people take the Outlet VERY seriously ! TBH, I'm prob just gonna order a Insp 6000 from the main site (£492 delivered for : Cel-M 1.3, 15.4", 512mb, 40gb, dvdrw, 11b miniPCI + printer is a pretty good price).Nature is a language ... can't you read ?0 -
Thanks for this post.
I just got my lappy. Very pleased. Now £50 quid more for same lappy and a rubbish £10 printer rather than the 922 all in one worth £70
thanks again0 -
Bought an Inspiron 1100 with 2.2 Celeron 18 months ago. It's the slowest machine I've ever worked with. Cost over a grand (would be less than half that new now).
I hate using it and the worst thing is they have refused to honour their £100 cashback offer, claiming I've already received it!
I'd never recommend Dell.0 -

I hadn't heard of the dell outlet before this post, but I visited on wednesday evening and spotted a laptop for a very good price (Under £300). On thursday morning I recieved an email from dell with some word documents and a dell booking reference #. Also the money on my account is being held (I can't spend it, my available balance is nearly £300 less). My friend ordered from the dell outlet yesterday and he recieved an email with word documents followed by another email with full confirmation and pdf documents about 30 mins later. I have been waiting for a day. Does this mean mine is a misprice and they wont be delivering or do I just need to be patient? I am not aware of any attempts to get in contact with me, although I am in a big student house quite far away from the phone and am unlikely to hear it.
Did you recieve any sort of email confirmation from dell, Supertrooper before they phoned you? I don't know if the email they have sent me is confirmation enough that I will get the laptop. Does anyone know if they are legally obliged to send it me know they are holding the money and have given me a booking reference which looks a lot like a reciept?
